Small park that's interesting in the late afternoons when you can see locals exercise and play Takraw. Takraw is similar to volleyball, except no hands. ;)

Time for a Free Outdoor Playtime: Chiang Mai city has plenty of parks where you can relax on the lawns with a snack. One of our favourite park is Nong Buak Hard Park, on the southwest corner of themcity. With plenty of shade, plus many vendors selling refreshment and ice creams, it offers a nice space to relaxmand have a family picnic. Kids can enjoy the colourful playground with slides and bits to climb, as well as feeding the fish in the pond. Parents will love the coffee shop with wifi internet as well as morning Tai Chi - free course (7am). @ Arak Road. T. Phra Sing. Chiang Mai. Daily 6 am. - 9 pm. | Free entrance! :)

This park is the old city’s only public recreation area, sited inside the moat. the southwest of the old town, 15 mins walk from Aer's townhome. In its rectangular layout, the park features a pond in the center, crossed by an arched bridge, a restaurant and a few snack stalls, bird houses perched on tall poles, lawns, flowers and shade trees. Popular activities here, for both local residents and foreign visitors, include jogging, calisthenics, yoga exercises, badminton and takraw. a sport originally created in Southeast Asia. It is a bit like volleyball except that the players are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands.
