Tips from locals
Museum, lovely grounds, and even the islands’ first Starbucks. This is a hub for Gaelic language too, and is home to the local campus of the University if the Highlands and Islands. Museum a firm favourite with my own wee boy!
The Lews Castle is set in spectacular surroundings. The castle and the grounds around make a pleasant walk.
The museum is very interesting for all ages. There is also a nice restaurant, a shop and you can have a look around the castle which was built in 1844
Iconic Lews Castle with new museum attached, local walking trails, designated bike trails, traffic controls, salmon river, waterwheel, golf course, Woodlands visitor centre & tea house.
Lews Castle has been recently renovated and has a fantastic museum and café/restaurant
