The University of Bolton Stadium is an 8 minute drive away. As well as being the home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club, the stadium stages music concerts, major conferences, exhibitions, as well as an array of sporting events. It is also situated next to Bolton's largest retail and leisure park, Middlebrook.

I haven't really been to many football matches. TBH I didn't and don't really have the cash, but occasionally go. My son has been a few times when playing Huddersfield as his dad is from there. I once got some corporate seats gifted to me and wore my trendy fitted French Connection denim coat, only to be told denim is not allowed. Well, I wore it anyway as I didn't have another one that was suitable at the time. LOL. Happy Days. I once went to an oasis gig here with a trendy friend who had loads of free beer tokens. He happily handed them out to everyone, I offered to buy him a pint when they were all gone. He refused and disappeared soon afterwards, happy that everyone was happy. A true gentleman. I still see him now occasionally and he always manages to make me laugh without saying much at all. Northern humour and accents, always a winner. Brian Cannon did get a mention at the oasis gig. I said to my friends I wonder if he is here backstage or something. Shall I ask the security guards? But in the end I didn’t they are working and I’m having a great time with my friends. I ended up dancing on my friends shoulders on a shoulder lift (probably nearly squashed him) I couldn’t do that now,. I was a little disappointed today because Bolton wanderers lost in a local derby against Wigan athletics. I was actually going to go to the match as loads of my girlfriends were going, but my dad said not to as there would always be trouble at a local derby game. Oasis, stand by me.
