A sprawling estate in Southern Pines, once the home of novelist James Boyd, author of "Drums," considered one the the best accounts of the American Revolution. Chamber Music Series + much more!

555 E Connecticut Ave, Southern Pines Who are we? We are a creative enclave celebrating the arts and humanities; a place that welcomes and encourages everyone to revel in learning and sharing; a place that offers experiences that inspire and enrich the community; a place to exchange ideas, to broaden perspectives, and to discover new possibilities. We are the legacy of author James Boyd and his wife, Katharine Lamont Boyd, who built Boyd House at Weymouth over 100 years ago and envisioned a place with open doors and wide-open spaces; a place filled with artists and writers and creative thinkers; a place filled with life and laughter; a place where friends and community come together with open hearts and minds. Today, we read and write and listen and learn in the Boyd’s house. We gather and garden and picnic and play on their grounds.
