Old School theater with a great decor. Typically shows movies for a two week run and has the latest hits. I think they recently upgraded their sound system; the last movie we saw there, the surround sound was great. Check for Groupon packages online.

The Lafayette Theater is a nationally acclaimed movie palace located in downtown Suffern, New York, built in 1923.. Its primary function is first-run movies, but it also houses special events like its popular weekly Big Screen Classics film shows. It is also notable for housing a Wurlitzer theater organ, which is played before Big Screen Classics shows.

The only single screen theater left in the area this is a gem of a place. It originally was a vaudeville theater and switched to movies in the 1930's. Since then little has changed. Restored to its original luster in 2009. On Friday thru Sunday nights you'll hear the "Mighty Wurlitzer" still played before each showing. Also check out Classic Movies on Saturdays at 11am for a 30 minute organ concert followed by a legendary film. All for only $3.
