Indiana Dunes State Park - walking trails and great beach. There is also a National Dunes Park nearby as well.

This beach actually connects all the way to Mt. Baldy. It's a little bit of a hike down to the beach but it is a beautiful area of the National Park. You may need to pay for a park day pass or buy a National Park pass to visit here starting in 2022, but it is absolutely worth it. I would recommend coming early.
