Tips from locals
Our favorite burger place in Hilo. Fair prices and good burgers and fries.
Live bands and DJs quite often. Pool tables and an art gallery in the back featuring local artists. Worth a stop for a drink and perhaps some dancing. 2-blocks from the Loft.
Happening place, usually no cover fee for live music and dancing. Usually closes before 11pm.

“Live music Thursday and Friday nights (at least). Limited bar but one of the only true night clubs in town. Popular with locals. Nice interior. Great for a quick drink as you cruise the bayfront in the evening. A couple blocks from the Loft.”

“Best margaritas! Delicious pineapple burger (I know sounds weird to some but it’s worth trying). Love their fish and chips.”

“You can jump off the cliffs here but be aware of the currents and weather. Summer is best time. I would only jump if there are already people there jumping.”

Open since 1931, the museum is now an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and registered on the National Register of Historic Places. ”
