Superb Hike, rated difficult. There are many easy walks or parts though! Just beautiful. Go to mile marker 169 to the right of the overlook. Then the steepest part is downhill, and the best views come last... Rocky Knob Recreation Area

Great place to hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway! Can stroll along the top for beautiful views. Take Rt 8 to CC Camp Road at bottom of trail to enjoy a couple miles that meander along the creek in the shade. More ambitious hikers may want to do the entire 10 mile loop. For the entire loop, we prefer to start down off CC Camp Rd. From the parking lot start along the trail, then take the first path to the right to go up the mountain. This will loop around and come down on the other side of the creek trail, giving a nice cool down time back to the parking lot. Farmhouse along the creek trail claims to be the first painted house in Floyd county.
