A walk up the crags or Arthur’s seat for sunrise or sunset is truly magical. One of the best places in the city to see it

You can stay in the city but feel you’re in the country with a walk up to Arthur’s Seat. Take a picnic. The panoramic views are breathtaking as subtle light changes create the many atmospheres you feel as Edinburgh embraces you

If you want to avoid the crowds that descend on Arthur's Seat, there are lots of alternative paths in Holyrood park. Or you can walk around a circular paved road which passes two lochs and gives great views over the city and the coastline. The circular walk is 3 or 4 miles with a gradual uphill section.
