The New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old US Mint hosts a Louis Armstrong festival each year, usually the first weekend of August. It is an amazing reason to experience the birthplace of Jazz.

Former US Mint building, this fortress at the end of the Quarter offer free admission and an interesting Jazz exhibit upstairs including Louis Armstrong's first cornet and Fats Domino's piano.
