ttp://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Oaks_Bottom_Loop_Hike If you walk across the pedestrian bridge under the steel bridge at the north end of the cherry blossoms – or walk across the Hawthorne Bridge farther south, you can reach the Eastside Esplanade. It’s 1.5 miles between the Steel Bridge and the Hawthorne Bridge. If you continue walking south past OMSI (you have to zig zag at one point around a couple buildings) , for a couple miles, you will reach the entrance to the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Area. (or the Oaks Park Amusement Park on the other side of the path.)

In this wildlife refuge, you can stay on the paved bike path or take an easy hike through the beautiful woods and wetlands. Great for running, on either the trails or paved paths. Connects to the Springwater Corridor bike path.
