It tells the story of Katrina in a very even handed, interactive and sensitive way that is very informative - and has a great exhibition for Mardi Gras upstairs. Also recommended is the Backstreet Cultural Museum in the Treme - a small private museum that has great Mardi Gras Indian costumes and more from Mardi Gras

On the other side of St. Louis Cathedral from the Cabildo, the Presbytere is another museum. Check out the Mardi Gras exhibit
