Tips from locals
The raw bar featuring at least a half-dozen impeccably fresh, perfectly shucked oyster varieties from New England harbors plus a couple from the Pacific Northwest, as well as uni, raw clams and seasonal delicacies like stone crab claws.
With limited seating and a lot of buzz (every year), it is hard to find a seat during the rush hours of the day. However, if you can find the off-hours (weekdays - early dinner etc), this will make your visit to Boston complete!
If you want a fabulous raw bar, seafood, and one of the best lobster rolls in town, head to Neptune. It's pricey and small but the quality is very high. Turn left on Salem and walk to the last block of the North End (it's on the left next to Pauli's), put your name in and then wait for a few hours…
I hear it's almost impossible to get in but it's supposed to be the best seafood spot around. If you're heading to the North End (beautiful and quaint Italian section of Boston) see if you can get a reservation.
