Tips from locals
A great option if it's raining during your stay and you want to be indoors, the museum is free although there are occasionally exhibitions you can pay to see. It's bigger than you might think and recommend you give yourself a few hours at least to look around!
A 2 minute walk from the flat. The collection is vast and there is something for all the family. A fantastic place to learn about the history of Scotland. Entry is free and the museum is open 10am - 5pm seven days a week.
A great spot for a rainy day with plenty of kid friendly exhibits. Don’t miss a the rooftop terrace for panoramic views without any hiking. The view of the castle from here is wonderful! Take the lift all the way to the 7th floor. The terrace was designed by sculptor Andy Goldsworthy and the plant…
Such a great museum with lovely eateries too. The Tower Restaurant is very special on the top floor. Have a cocktail on the terrace first the views are stunning.
