About this place
The Royal Oak is a real Scottish pub that has made its name as a live music venue. With a fine tradition of musical entertainment every single night of the week you can hear mainly folk songs with a mix of other acoustic styles.

Tips from locals
A traditional pub with a cosy, couthie atmosphere and some great music sessions where everyone gets involved singing along. Sometimes hard to squeeze in to get to the bar but a good place for a malt whisky or Edinburgh Pale Ale.
My favourite for live Scottish folk music. Amazing atmosphere in a quaint and cosy pub. Best time to go is after 9:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. If it looks full, go in anyways. There's always room to stand and enjoy yourself!
A local venue well known for it's live music, often folk, but some major lashings of country-western, folk-pop, and almost anything else you can imagine (so long as it can include aucostic guitars!)
