Port Aransas is a city on Mustang Island that can be reached via a ferry ride from Aransas pass (24 hr. no cost) The area has an expansive beach, shopping and restaurants. There are also local guides for fishing and many other activities. Beach passes are required, and available at Stripes corner stores.

Direct beach access to the Gulf of Mexico. Lots of restaurants and shops. Ride a ferry across and go to Winton's Candy store with the kids.
