American Restaurant
“Since the roaring 1970"s the quintessential college bar/restaurant in Lexington. It is across the street from a very attractive small city park called Hopkins Green near the center of town and close to both colleges. Once a loud, rough and rowdy place new management about five years ago significantly improved the quality of the food ,the venue and the service. There a less of the college crowd these days and more locals and visitors, some with children. The food is good and inexpensive and the bar is still classic but more mellow than in years past.”

Restaurant
“Haywood's restaurant and the Georges Hotel occupy a recently exquisitely renovated late 18th century Federalist style brick building in Lexington town center. This is one of the most expensive places to eat in Lexington but the food is excellent and the setting luxurious. There is an active bar scene on weekends with piano and music.”
