The Flanagan and Chamise Peak trails I just discovered this last year. Where has it been my whole life! Its one of my favorite hiking trails. Gorgeous views all the way up, spectacular view of the Shasta dam, Lake Shasta and Mount Shasta when you are at the top and there is a picnic table on top to boot. I love it

This is one of my favorite hikes because of the stunning views along the way and when you reach the top you get a breathtaking view of the 3 Shastas (Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake & Mt. Shasta).

Chamise Peak is a 4.6 mile, out and back trail located near Shasta Lake, moderately challenging. Take plenty of water! Chamise Peak Trail is kid friendly, with 360 degree views. You’ll find wildflowers along the way, and lots of bird watching opportunities. It’s a favorite local Redding trail!
