Very spacious guest rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and balconies. Roof terrace with panoramic sea views. Great location 150 metres from the main beach and close to the centre of town.
“The guest rooms of the Kaza Tropikal are spacious, comfortable and clean with a small balcony with chairs and table in addition to the roof terrace. Ideally located, the accommodation allows to go in 2 minutes on the beautiful beach of Vila do Maio where swimming is enjoyable and relaxation. Carolyn's bar, right on the beach, also allows you to sit down for a drink or a bite to eat in this heavenly corner. We also had the right to two free welcome drinks. To recommend without worry for a stay relax in Maio, small paradise island.”
Three bedroom villa, perched on a cliff top with west facing sea views. Shared environmentally friendly salt water infinity pool and private access to sandy beach (50m). Comfortable, modern, spacious. secluded, tranquil and totally unspoilt....
“When planning our trip to Cape Verde we were unsure which islands to visit. Maio was challenging to get to, but once there we knew we had made the perfect choice for rest and relaxation. There isn’t much to do in the way of organised activities (we did an Island tour which was worthwhile) but during our two week stay we really managed to unwind and slow down. Philip’s place is a good choice for those preferring self catering although its only a short walk to local restaurants and there are a few quite well stocked shops nearby. The shared infinity pool overlooks the sea and is only yards from the villa. You can also relax on the sun beds in the lovely garden which is a rarity in Maio. The villa is reasonably equipped, the fans are adequate (didn’t need air con) and the WiFi is good. You can access Netflix on the tv if you have your own account. Caro, the manager and also owner of bar Tropikal on the beach which you should visit, was very kind, informative and helpful regarding any questions or issues we had. Philip was very helpful too in helping us plan our visit and was quick to respond. There are beautiful beaches close by, the setting - a rustic quaint town with dogs, chickens and a few cows roaming around, but perhaps most memorable of all are the people of Maio who are kind, friendly and welcoming. The other islands we visited, Sal and Santiago certainly offered something different but Maio had a simple magic all of its own.”
