Our comfortable guest room can comfortably sleep two people, has its own bathroom, shower, includes a lounge area and an open air patio. We share our home cooked meals especially when my wife is on holiday/break from working. You’re are welcome to use our kitchen for cooking too. We look forward to meeting you! :)
“The hosts were more than friendly and outgoing. They support in every critical situation, here essentially order and telephone guidance of Uber or taxis, pick-up service from the airport plus water. The location is good, the house is safe, the environment is interesting with a nearby market, the neighborhood is open-minded, a small bar a few doors away. The large bedroom is equipped with closet, armchair, desk and chair, small fridge, kettle incl. Tea etc., small steam iron, TV, the shower room with wash hand basin, toilet and everything necessary for cleaning and so on. A covered small terrace with table and chairs to the courtyard completes the generous cut. Everything was spotless, although a bit old. Free fast wifi on board. Conclusion: Recommended without restriction. Better than some hotel.”
Our B&B is an unpretentious, simple and comfortable hide-away for those seeking rest, relaxation, peace and quiet in unspoiled nature. We are on solar energy and try to have as little an impact as possible on our natural surroundings. As we are a new B&B (we just opened in February 2017!) we are still in the process of growing our own vegetable and fruit garden. We call our B&B "The Tree House" even though, in literal terms, we are not a tree house. It is a wood-frame, 3 story home, on stilts.
“After spending a week in Accra I was looking for a tranquil retreat away from the city to unwind and re-center before flying back to the UK. When looking for somewhere to stay, I was swayed by the beautiful pictures (friends were envious when I showed them) and amazing reviews. I booked 4 months ahead of my stay but Yao’s & Aaj’s communication with me from the onset was friendly, professional and very accommodating, I knew from then I had made the right choice. The beautiful idyllic setting of the Tree House served up relaxation and tranquility in abundance. I love the outdoors and nature, so I really felt at home here in among the natural surroundings. There is everything to love about the Tree House, the picturesque rustic and tranquil setting, the amazing views, the serenity and most importantly the exceptional hospitality from my hosts. Yao and Aaj are one of the most friendly and hospitable airbnb hosts that I have encountered. In-fact from the onset it felt like I was staying with family/friends, I was welcomed by the family with open arms and spent a lot of my time relaxing, conversing and sharing delicious morning/evening meals and snacks with the family on their beautiful inviting open terrace with its beautiful decor and abundance of potted plants wherever you turned (hand grown by green fingered Aaj), creating an extension of the tranquil idyllic grounds. We had so much to talk about and some interesting conversations. Yao is very knowledgable about Ghanain culture and history, he was engaging on all topics and a visionary which I could relate to and which enabled our conversations to flow naturally. Aaj and I had so much in common, it was like we were kindred spirits. Like myself Aaj is a extremely talented and creative soul with a lot of creative vision, we spent so much time comparing ideas and suggestions. Home cooks meals were plentiful and more importantly flavoursome and prepared with love by both Yao and Aaj (Yao’s Chicken and Omelette are worth the wait, and as an avid baker, I adored Aaj’s freshly baked chocolate bannana cake). I would have loved to have eaten much more especially hearing of Aaj’s amazing Ghanain speciality dishes, but I restricted myself due to a delicate stomach as a result of a meal I ate whilst in Accra. (One of many reasons i’ll be back is too sample Aaj's food) The tranquility extends to the guest house with its rustic charm infused with african decor throughout, it was truly a relaxing environment home away from home. I had the entire house to myself and the top floor room with charming room and ensuite shower which opens onto the stunning wrap around terrace. When I first arrived I was literally in awe, the view from the terrace was breathtaking you are literally surrounded by a 360 degree view of trees, lush greenary and view of the mountains (even though it was slightly masked by haze for by Hamanatt season, on a clear day i’m told you can see the skyline from Accra/Tema) I only stayed 2 nights but I managed to do the two main things on my list with the help of my hosts who kindly accompanied me first to Aburi Botanical Park passing first through Aburi town so I could see its history, reminiscent of its colonial past and its development. Yao’s engaging friend who has experience in botany and agriculture also came along and was very relaxed, pleasant and informative. Then off to Aburi craft market; although as it was a Sunday early afternoon, it was surprisingly quiet and most of the shops were closed but I still managed to grab a few nice gifts. I appreciate Yao’s patience whilst I looked around and Aaj especially, helping me haggle the prices to get some good bargains (as a designer i’m can be a bit lenient when i see the craftsmanship gone into the pieces, I need to embrace my Ghanaian bartering side:). We also had a delicious meal at Hillburi Lodge part of the resort with its breathtaking views. Although I spent quite a bit of time with the family, I did take in some quiet relaxing moments on the guest terrace, it was such a tranquil experience laying on the hammock and being soothed by the sounds of crickets as I read my book (well tried, the hammock gently rocks you to sleep). I cannot recommend the Tree House enough for a tranquil stopover and Aaj and Yao as lovely hosts. Their two boys Ian and William were so lovely, well mannered and utterly adorable, they just got on with things unfazed as they would normally helping to set the table, prepare the room etc I really did feel welcome and can’t thank you enough for my short but very sweet stay. I so look forward to the ideas we discussed coming to fruition in addition to you developing the experiences you already provide, as the Tree House and it’s location really lends itself well to different activities. I will definitely be back end of the year, this will be my go to place from now on whenever I visit Ghana and want a tranquil escape, not to mention I will coming back to visit two genuine people I now class as friends/family :)”
In Accra, one often has to choose between an immaculately kept and beautifully decorated place which is totally removed from the average Ghanaian and a place in the heart of local life. Not so in this case! Located in the heart of Adenta, this condo boasts of all the amenities one would desire. In addition to this, the place allows one to have a very good feel of the local life as it is surrounded by many middle class Ghanaian families.
“The apartment is clean and spacious Wonderful large rooms. Only air condition is in the master bedroom Eat in kitchen. Plush comfy chairs in livingroom, ceiling fans. Everything you need for cooking is there. Coffee, tea, creamer, tea on offer Makr smoothies a smoothie maker is there. Great neighborhood. The bed is so comfortable you want to lie in with huge firm down pillows. Two bedrooms both large. But one set up with a couch. Would have loved another bed instead. A small library is suppled with good books to read. Towels, wash clohes, change of bed linen. Though not in the center about 37 to 50 cedis will get you anywhere you want to go.
