This Single Family Cabin is located on a private Camping and Retreat Center. Each free standing cabin has a private bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. These cabins are nestled in the trees and are a walking distance to a creek. The 600 acre property provides a peaceful place to hike, observe wildlife, and relax. There are two identical cabins available (Strassburg pictured) and guests will be assigned one of the cabins upon booking.
“The cabins exterior was that of a usual cabin and the interior was stylish, very clean and comfortable both were as described in the photos. The retreat center grounds were clean and well kept. We walked one of the many trails, saw the waterfall and the prayer labyrinth that are all on the property, the views are spectacular from the top of the mountain. My husband liked all the natural elements throughout the grounds. We saw many different types of trees and birds, and were able to relax around the campfire with ample wood that was provided. Well, until the rain began to fall, then we just moved to the covered porch and listened to the rain. We only stayed overnight for a quick getaway and it is a place that left a lasting impression. Hannah, our host, was quick to answer all our questions prior to booking, checkin and check out were easy. Jonah, guest service, was very helpful during our stay also.”
Single story cozy contemporary cottage nestled on quiet road in the Laurel Highlands. Less than a mile to Ligonier Diamond and walking distance to Eastwood Inn. Just a few miles to both Laurel Mountain ski resort and Idlewild park. Boasts nice deck with view of gentle stream with walking bridge. One master bedroom with double bed plus bonus room with futon.
“John and Lori's cottage was very nice and cozy. We really enjoyed the rushing stream out front, and taking long walks in the neighborhood with our dog. There's great hikes nearby and really feels remote, while very close and convenient to smaller towns, and just an hour away from Pittsburgh. All in all, it's the perfect size for a couple. One note: if you're staying for a while, it should be noted that the bed is a bit uneven and led to a few uncomfortable nights' sleep for us.”
Enjoy an Adventure in "Glamping" at Highland House on Pittsburgher Highland Farm. This custom built Tiny House is situated on 140 acres of rolling farmland, hills and forests, with Scottish Highland cattle and chickens. Located about 45 minutes south of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania's beautiful Laurel Highlands, there is lots to see and do both on site and nearby.
“My husband and I chose the Highland House to celebrate my 30th birthday and I am so happy we did! From personal touches to peace and quiet this home had it all. We spent our days enjoying all that the farm has to offer and our nights by the fire. I was lulled to sleep each night (and admittedly some of the day) by the sounds of birds and frogs. While we chose to stay at the farm the whole time, Mark had plenty of area guides to see what the Laurel Highlands has to offer. Everything we could possibly need activity wise was provided. The home was spotless and wood was ready for a fire! I would definitely suggest taking advantage of the binoculars while hiking and catching views of the cattle! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but a quick 5 minute trip down the road led us to a farmer’s market where we were able to pick up some fresh local produce to dress up our meals. As city dwellers it’s rare for us to get a weekend away. This whole trip was dreamy and we cannot wait to return!”
