Unique activities hosted by local experts vetted for quality

  • Sloth's watching tour & Natural Trail
Sloth's Territory is a total trail of 1300 meters, which extends along a natural forest surrounded La Havana River, into a total property of 10 hectares. At your arrival you will park at the Rodriguez Family's House, owners of Sloth's Territory. Their house works as reception, so it is a meet up point for waiting the start time of the activity. Right at the moment of your arrival, you will be greeted and welcomed of one of their family (normally Oscar, Keylor or Mauricio and the ones leading the project and the activity). During the hike, the trail allows you to enjoy a gallery forest with lush vegetation and giant tree; constituting the habitat of many species like: opossums, two and tree-toed sloths, howler monkeys, blue jeans frogs, porcupines and many birds such as toucans, motmots, tiger herons, kingfishers tanagers and much others. But the main attraction are the sloths watching and the blue jeans frog watching. The Rodriguez Family have months of daily counting the sloths and we are sure that you will have the chance to see between 3 and 12 different sloths (from two and three toed-sloths). The duration of this activity can be from 1,5 to 2 hours, all depends if you want to focus just on the sloths or if you are interest of watching more plants and animals. Other things to note The hike is done in a natural environment, that's why we can't guaranty a 100% observation of named animal in the descriptions, but by our daily monitoring we know that it is very possible.

  • Ziplines with options of Rappel and heated pools
Arriving at Go Adventure we move to the first platform, there we begin with a talk explaining what to do and what not to do during the canopy tour. Later we start with the first cable that starts on the ground and ends on a platform in a tree. From then on we continue traveling through the forest canopy from platform to platform during a journey of around 1.45 hours on cables, which together total approximately 2.3 kilometers. The great idea of this tour is to have a unique experience in the trees and see animals along the way. For those more risky, we have the option of rappelling 147 feet. this is optional after the zip lines. We will also have a short experience with the Maleku natives at their Palenque ranch. Access to the Thermal Pools of the Hotel Montaña de Fuego is included. Other highlights: You can bring a personal action camera that can be attached to the equipment. Do not bring jewelry or items that can fall from the platforms. We have parking, lockers and dressing rooms. If you need, we can provide transportation from the center of La Fortuna town, with prior notice.
