“Here you can really enjoy leaving cell phones and other electronics turned off. You get close to horses, sheep, cats, dog and rabbits, and at the same time experience some of what it could have been like to live there 200 years ago. Some modern facilities are there for the transition from the present to not be so great. The quay was well furnished, with adequate space for everything and "everyone". It was clean, tidy and tidy when I arrived, and I only enjoyed the sounds of nature. Hege, Randi and the rest of the family offered by themselves and I had a very nice time with them in the evenings in the sitting room and outside. Definitely a place I would consider staying overnight if I am nearby.”
Drengestua, old farmhouse from before 1750, Finnskogen, forest, in middle of nowhere. Very good for walking, fishing or just be outside in the nature. One and half hour to Oslo/Gardermoen airport(OSL). Perfekt for family or friends for holiday or work.
“Over the top experience. Amazingly helpful and friendly host. The house is stylish with the most unique fireplace that would provide anyone with unforgettable stay”
Stay in an old traditional boat house just a few feet from the water. Have a bonfire just outside. You can fish if you like. Boat or canoe is free to use on the lake. Sandy beach just meters away. Toilet and hot showers is located in the barn 200m away.
“We had a great stay at Stiaŋ's cabin, despite some cold and rainy days. Stiaŋ greeted us immediately on arrival and showed us where everything was. He even let us borrow a trolley to take our stuff down from the farm to the lakeside. The location next to the lake is fantastic and very private - on a sunny day it's idyllic. We particularly liked that there was wood available for us to start a fire with, a small beach (which was sadly submerged in the swollen lake this time!) and a canoe to make use of. There's a lot of birdsong, mist on the lake at dawn, and clearly a lot of moose activity nearby - great for nature lovers. The cabin was basic (as advertised) but well appointed and cosily furnished, with lots of space to move around, store and hang things. We suggest bringing mosquito netting (things were already getting a bit intense, even at the start of June), plus lots of warm clothes as the cabin can get a bit cold at night. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back - particularly looking forward to swimming and fishing in the lake at sunset on a warm day!”
