“It was a really enjoyable summer stay for me and my family and we all felt like at our own home. Marika and her parents (living upstairs) are very friendly, helpful and hospitable. They are always happy to help with some good tips and advice and even lend some equipment if needed. And Marika's mum bakes really delicious cakes! The apartment is big, clean and nicely equipped (good Wi-Fi, TV with HDMI socket, fridge, cooker, oven, all kitchen dishes and cutlery, towels, fans etc.). It is located in the old part of the town in a small street with the typical cosy Italian atmosphere. It is quite close to the sea (you can choose well-equipped private or free public beaches). The apartment is on the 1st floor and the stairs are quite steep (typical in such buildings in south Italy) and it was not an issue for us a all but it's good to know when you have a baby pram or a wheelchair. However, I am sure the host would help solve this problem (a little space behind the entrance door or on the ground floor which belongs to the family as well). As for the neighbourhood, there are many small shops, bars and cafeterias in close vicinity including a local supermarket, fantastic bakery (bread baked on the spot), nice greengrocer's and so on - all within a few minutes walk and really reasonably priced. What is really important, the local beaches are sandy and the sea is quite shallow - great when you have small children. Barletta has a train station and it's really easy to travel by train (even the cheapest regional trains are usually air-conditioned) and visit neighbouring towns like Trani, Molfetta or Bari or start longer trips to Monopoli or Alberobello or aother attractions of this part of Italy. It was my second stay in Barletta and I will be happy to come back again in some future. And I would not hesitate about staying at Marika's apartment again! I definitely recommend this host! Thank you Marika. And great thanks to your dad for airport pickup (arrival late at night).”
