This cozy house is walking distance from downtown Belfast, the Belfast Rail Trail, and the Belfast Harbor. The house is a romantic nest for two or a crash pad for up to six. Live comfortably while gaining easy access to all the cool adventures Mid-Coast Maine offers. Please note this is a real older house in a real neighborhood. It is eco-friendly and I do not use pesticides. You may see harmless house spiders, birds and plants. If you are looking for a hotel experience, please stay in a hotel.
“The reviews about the house are accurate. There are some distinct positives and a few negatives, as well. On the plus side, the yard is well-maintained and provides a lovely entrance to the house. A grill and picnic table are situated in the back yard to enjoy. This house comfortably sleeps four persons, two in the master bedroom and two kids in the bunk beds, so it would be good for a family. Some reviewers mentioned a smell -- that's a real thing. It's a 50's house and I had a headache the first day from the strong odor but my body acclimated and I didn't get headaches again after that. Airing out helps but only to some extent. The kitchen is an interesting combination of extremely stocked, as in spices, anything you could want for baking in terms of equipment, and a panoply of pots/pans. That being said, some of the basics were missing like black pepper and sugar. Seeing all the items, including creamer in the refrigerator, I thought I'd be all set for my coffee in the morning but couldn't find sugar. Some of the accoutrements like pillows are greasy to the touch and could use replacing. So, the price is great and the location is handy to downtown, the river trail, and the national park. It's not perfect but I had a really nice time -- just trying to let folks know the lay of the land. Maine is spectacular, so if you're looking for a cozy place on a budget, this will serve you well.”
Welcome to our brand new building. "A Room With a Brew" is located above Belfast's newest craft brewery, Frosty Bottom Brewing. A small community supported brewery open 2 days/week for 2 hours for beer share members. Guests can request a tour of the brewery and sample some fresh beer. Owners live next door and are present and available. 3 miles from downtown on a quiet road that offers local hiking and biking.
“We arrived to find a super cool space and host in Belfast. They thought of everything! The kitchen is stocked with items above and beyond the standard fare. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great! Wonderful, thoughtful products and touches. We were able to partake and some beer tasting and learned a ton about brewing and Belfast! Seriously, Leah & Roy are wonderful people. We can’t recommend it higher! Thank you for making our trip to Maine so special and unique.”
Greetings! You will get to stay in a 12’ X 16’ Amish-built Guest house with use of a private full bath off the main house (the water closet inside the guest house only has a porta potty). You have the quaintness of a Maine cabin yet the convenience of being a short ten minute walk from downtown Belfast. The street is in a popular Belfast neighborhood. *No smoking inside.
“Great, clean, cozy cabin! Exactly as expected. There's a large cooler with ice packs and a toaster oven. Only challenge for us was the bed. I like it firm, my boyfriend likes it soft, and we both woke up stiff. But I didn't notice other comments to this regard, and I realize it's a personal preference, so might just be us!”
