“Are you a breakfast person? Do you want to enjoy a sophisticated modern ambience while staying in the very centre of Berlin? Ready for some insider tips?”
“If you are a person who travels to Berlin alone like me and wants to deeply feel Berlin like a Berliner, choosing Alex's house is definitely the right decision! 1. Transportation: It is only 200 meters away from Nordbahnhof. It can be walked for two or three minutes. Nbf is a big station, and almost all the attractions and restaurants I want to go can be easily reached. The main train station can also be reached directly by tram or sbahn at nbf. 2. Security: Alex's house is behind a very quiet small park, surrounded by local residents. It used to go back at more than two in the morning. The journey from the station to Alex's house was very safe. There were no drunk refugees. Kind of, even if you are alone, you don't need to worry. There are some very good bars and restaurants around, you can listen to Alex's recommendations. 3. Communication and communication: Alex is a very nett person. If you have enough time and energy, please chat with Alex. He will give you a lot of recommendations about attractions and activities in Berlin. Alex recommended me A movie theater that will play black and white silent films for free, and also made an appointment for me, this experience is great! If it weren't for Alex, I would never have known such an interesting event, please believe Alex's taste! 4. The others are some details. After all, he lives with Alex, so try to be polite and don't disturb him. Of course, Alex is also a very quiet and respectful private landlord. Overall Alex is a very good person. Thank you very much Alex for your suggestions and help during this time! The first time I wrote such a long review on airbnb, I hope it can help everyone. Five-star recommends Alex's room!”
Pluck a pot from the rack on the exposed brick wall and cook up a storm at this cool, contemporary pad with clean lines and intricate period molding. Checkerboard floors, white Eames chairs, and elegant arched windows create a mix of old and new.
“Cos's apartment is the best Airbnb apartment we have stayed in. It is large, very stylish in an industrial fashion and has all of the amenities one could reasonably hope for. We didn't cook, but the kitchen was well set up to do so. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower, which is in the bedroom, worked well and had good water pressure. There is a coffee machine, filled with fresh beans, and clear instructions on how to use all of the amenities. There is also a helpful suggested 3 day itinerary for Berlin and guide books to use whilst at the flat. The wifi and Netflix worked well as did the Washer, though this is not in the apartment itself, but in a locked cupboard down a flight of stairs. It is exclusive use for the apartment though, so a minor inconvenience only. The apartment is on the first floor of a walk-up block well located a flat 300m walk from the underground station (15 mins and 5 stations from Alexanderplatz; 30 mins to Brandenburg Gate). It is self check in - you collect the keys from an internet café around the corner, which worked smoothly - and there are 2 flights of stairs to carry bags up. Don't be fooled by the grafitti outside the entrance door or the worn carpet on the stairs, as the apartment itself is finished to a high standard. Kruezberg is an interesting suburb, with a blend of Turkish immigrants, students, young families and a broad range of 'gentrifiers'. If you are turned off by graffiti and a bit of grunge, it may not be for you, but we really enjoyed the vibrancy of the area and we are Gen X'ers. Given the generally younger crowd, there is some late night noise and nightclub music. The bedroom is at the back of the apartment, so street noise is limited, but the music can be heard until late at times. There are many good cafes and restaurants in the area. Cos thoughtfully has left a list of many of these along with his recommendations. The Greek restaurant, Kreuzberger Weltlaterne in particular was excellent and only 5 mins walk. The Korean BBQ and Sushi places were also very good. There is a Turkish market in the street outside the apartment every Tues and Fri, which is well worth a look. Cos's communication was always prompt and helpful. We didn't meet him, but he is clearly thoughtful and very organized. Thanks Cos for a great 5 nights in Berlin - we would definitely stay at your place again and have no hesitation in recommending others do so.”
“Very nice and quiet apartment in a loft style in a very central location in Kreuzberg near Kotti. In the immediate vicinity there are shops for everyday life including a well-stocked organic shop. Parking is difficult in the area, I parked my car in the Kotti car park, where you can get a cheap daily rate on request for stays of several days. The apartment is stylishly furnished as a mixture of old and new and offers all the necessary comfort for a pleasant stay. Not so suitable for people with limited stairs as they have to climb several floors. Due to the location in a rear building, you are well shielded from the street and the apartment is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Very pleasant.”
