Private and tucked away from the crowds, our Tamolitch Cabin is the perfect base camp for 2 to 3 people as you explore all the McKenzie River has to offer. Our property is nestled in the woods, just far enough off the highway that all you can hear is the sound of gentle rushing water. We offer guided rafting trips, mountain bike rentals and shuttles and more. We welcome people from all backgrounds and hope to share with you our love of the outdoors and our beautiful place in the woods!
“We stayed in the Tamolich for 5 nights. The cabin is cozy and rustic but modern. Check-in was easy and Alyssa responded quickly and was very helpful. The weather was rainy and cool the first couple of days so we appreciated the fireplace! The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals, including cooking oil, salt and pepper, but if you want anything more specialized you’ll want to bring it. There’s a sweet little porch with a charcoal grill and a fire it out front. There were quite a few mosquitos so we appreciated the screened windows! Easy distance to the McKenzie Pass Scenic Bikeway/Byway and a number of hiking options nearby. Overall very cozy with all of the comforts of home!”
Picture yourself enjoying breakfast or grilling the trout you caught that morning on the deck watching rafters, kayaks, and fishing boats drift by. This cabin was built in the 1940's and though it's original charm has been preserved it has been updated to provide many modern amenities and comforts.
“We enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation in this cozy and clean riverfront cabin. Rachel was an excellent host and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and taken care of. We enjoyed sitting on the patio furniture on sunny days and being mesmerized by the sights and sounds of the river and cedar, alder and Douglass for trees. There’s a nice big rock that you can sit on to cast your fishing pole and catch trout. If you don’t have a pole or bait, it’s right there in the cabin. The bed is very comfortable and you can enjoy drinking your morning coffee or tea (provided by the hostess) while lying in bed and gazing out at the river. There are lots of windows which show the view and let in natural light. The cabin is close to the highway, but if you open the windows, the river helps with the traffic noises. There is a sound machine provided to help drown out the noise but we opted not to use it. The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare all of your meals. I was impressed that there was even a colander to drain pasta. The bathroom was well equipped with fresh towels and a hot shower. This was nice after a hike to the Blue Pool and a cold rainy day. We felt well cared for and will be back again to enjoy this cabin and the McKenzie River. I highly recommend this little slice of heaven.”
One of McKenzie's best rentals! Secluded space for couples, friends & families. You'll love mornings & evenings on the large covered deck. Relax in the hammocks, have a campfire or enjoy the short hike to walk along Horse Creek. Inside there's a wood-burning fireplace, super comfy new beds, stocked kitchen. McKenzie River trail's bike shuttle is across the street - ride back to the house! Perfectly situated, close to the Mckenzie River Trail & other trails, local hot springs & restaurants.
“My friends, pup, and I had a great weekend. The house feels like such a special little getaway in the woods and so close to all sorts of outdoor recreation. We built a cozy fire and played games while it rained outside and drove the short distance to enjoy the hot springs. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen had quality pots and pans for cooking. Definitely recommend this place and hope to return someday in the summer to enjoy the nice outdoor space.”
