Vacation rentals in Boca de Chajul

My whole family loved our stay here. It’s a quiet, basic rustic cabin on the riverbank with howler monkeys in the trees above and around. It is absolutely perfect for people who love nature. It is not five star, it is so much more. We were the only ones there, they had to clean a foot of mud off the cabin floor from the previous wet season, and the cabin was spotless. They did an amazing job getting it ready for us after being flooded a couple of months before. The only issue we had was, there was no one there when we arrived, and we had to go and find someone. It wasn’t a big deal, but with a family of five, including young children, it wasn’t the ideal start. But it turned into the perfect stay. They directed us to Las Guacamayas, the only restaurant in town, and we did a boat trip from there too. It was absolutely amazing. We weren’t sure about visiting this part of Mexico with the family, we are so glad we did. It was the highlight of our 6 weeks and completely safe. Do it!

I stayed for one night and since I booked this place Quirino sent me all the instructions on how to arrive which made it pretty easy to reach. They all treat it us really well and they made many recommendations about what to visit around. La estancia en este lugar nos ha dejado un buen sabor de boca. Desde el comienzo Quirino nos dio toda la información de cómo llegar incluso con horarios y precios lo cual valoro mucho. Una vez que llegamos tuvimos el placer de conocer a Jehú y Oscar quienes nos hicieron sentir muy cómodos en todo momento y nos brindaron mucha información. Esto nos ayudó a que pudiéramos conocer más espacios alrededor de esa comunidad. Altamente recomiendo quedarse aquí. Ojo al estar ya dentro de una zona selvática el acceso a internet es algo limitado y las llamadas no entran pero es parte de la experiencia para desconectarse de las redes y conectarte con la naturaleza. Great place to stay! Located right beside the river. 15 minute walk to the waterfalls. Our favorite place was dining at the restaurant, tasty food and friendly people.

Muy bonito lugar, escuchas el río pasar durante la noche y es relajante, además tienen diversas actividades que puedes realizar con ellos, lástima que no pude hacer ninguna porque el día que me hospede tenían un evento y no había personal en la estancia. Eso sí, rentan bicicletas a muy buen precio y con eso te puedes desplazar por toda el área.

I could not have picked a better place to stay in Barillas. Everyone was incredibly kind and gave me helpful recommendations and directions. The home itself was incredibly beautiful and exceptionally clean.
