Mountain modern Carriage House downtown Morganton

The Carriage House and city of Morganton have power and are ready visitors. This guest house sits behind a historic home in downtown Morganton. The 1920s structure has restored original finishes : a claw foot tub, vintage bathroom sink, and farm house sink in the kitchen. Downstairs features original wood bead board ceilings. Upstairs the ceiling was removed to expose the roof and beams. Two fireplaces keep it cozy - you'll have a lovely place relax and listen to the rain on the metal roof.

Gaither house is a historic home located in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood in Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina. Within a block is Root and Vine Restaurant (my fav), Homer's Oyster Bar, The Grind Coffee Shop, The Courthouse Square, the movie theater, Brown Mountain Bottle Works, Catawba Valley Brewery, Pat's Snack Bar, Limbertwigs Cafe (my other fav), Kin Kin sushi, multiple banks, churches, and local businesses.

Perfect for long term stays near Downtown Morganton. Shopping, restaurants, entertainment, breweries & more all within walking distance. Built in 1888, as a Cotton Mill & added to in 1949 becoming Drexel Heritage Furniture Plant No.7. Now 45 "industrial" apts. with all modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable.
