If you're looking for a quiet, secluded retreat in the beautiful mountains of WNC, this is the spot! Our cabin is rustic, retro, and romantic. It provides ample river/creek views, immediate access to hiking trails, and is located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, zip lining, rafting, skiing, and much more. Plus it's only a few minutes to the quaint downtown of Mars Hill. We happily welcome folks of all backgrounds and identities in our space. No added cleaning/platform maintenance fees!
“The cabin was clean and cute. We really appreciated the light up sign welcoming us by name, that was an extra touch that was fun and unexpected. As for the stay, it was quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We live in the city, so getting away for our anniversary was needed. The kitchen has a lot of the main things you need to cook food, which was a big plus for us, with dietary restrictions. There is a path around their property that was wonderful to walk. We didn't get to build a fire outside but there was a place to do so and we decided we'll have to come back to do it another time!”
A totally secluded cabin nestled up on a mountain. It is VERY RUSTIC. No electricity, water, or bathroom and can only be accessed by an 8 minute uphill walk from parking. Guests are welcome to use the bathroom/shower here on the retreat. It is inside the musical communal house which is down near parking and is shared with other guests (therefore you might have to wait a few minutes to use sometimes).
“There are simply no words to describe the most wonderful week I spent in the cabin atop the hill overlooking the valley. It far exceeded my most hopeful expectations and being surrounded by all the majestic trees literally took my breath away. The cabin itself makes for the perfect getaway, cozy with a natural feel and plenty of space Firewood is abundant in the forest behind the cabin and made for convenient access to keep many fires going long into the night as I watched the star-studded sky. Jared is a friendly, generous, and respectful host, happy to help with anything and provided an extra blanket for the colder nights of my stay. I only wish this piece of paradise was closer to home so I could visit more often, but it's certainly well worth the 10+ hour drive from home and I intend to be back when circumstances allow for the privilege again. This spot is a gem!”
This listing is not for everyone, but perfect for some, please read the details about the space before booking. This listing is all about the site and the view, not the bus. The bus is old, the door doesn't fully close, theres no electric/ac, just a table, desk and a mattress. It's really just there for added privacy/shelter. Its private, there's a fire-pit and a picnic table. You can use the bathroom/shower/wifi after a short walk down to the main house here at the music/arts retreat.
“This place was truly magical! I appreciate the honest description, and I found the bus to be very charming and the views unbelievable! Spectacular for the price. Even in April it still gets very cold at night, so be sure to bring many blankets. Jared even offered me one of his cabins since it was cold. Very kind and friendly hospitality, and highly recommend this hidden gem.”
