Now is a great time to stay in this completely furnished two-bedroom house directly overlooking the Mississippi River. The view is spectacular from the expansive deck, and the hot tub is amazing during the day and under the stars. This 1+ acre property is tucked away on a private dead end street, yet close to many great restaurants and shopping. If you're looking for a romantic getaway this house has everything you need for a wonderful time!
“If you're looking for a PERFECT lazy weekend getaway on a well-maintained house by the river you should look no further. The house is full of modern working appliances, stocked with everything you need to have a good food / lounging experience. The hot tub / deck / view are worth the price of admission alone but my boyfriend and I were blown away by how many little details our hosts thought of. A thorough list of house guidelines / local restaurants / info is provided so nothing is left up to the imagination. There's a Wii, Netflix on the TV, binoculars for enjoying the views, and so many other little details that make this house feel like a cozy relaxing space rather than "just a place to crash." Betzy was thorough in communication and quick to respond to us when we had a question. We never felt like we couldn't reach our hosts. Can't recommend this space / house enough. We would absolutely come back if we wanted to get away for another weekend. Did I mention the hot tub? On the river? Those views? Sold.”
This little cottage is a Rock Island Historic house. Nestled among the large Victorians, it was built in 1879 and housed various workers, from a blacksmith, to a wallpaper hanger! Located just blocks from the Mississippi River you can walk along a paved bike path with gorgeous views. In the evening enjoy the vibrant nightlife, with music and a dinner playhouse! This tiny historic cottage is great for a quick night, but perfect for class reunions, weddings and the John Deer Classic!
“Staying at Carla’s Cottage was an absolutely lovely experience. Not only did she run out and get us a new coffee pot before we arrived, but she also provided for us a lovely wine and cheese basket upon our arrival. Carla popped up several times during our stay to check in on us as she lives right around the corner. Her communication was super quick and she is very accommodating. The cottage was so inviting and a GREAT place for dogs as the backyard is fenced in. Personally, we loved sitting on the back patio and enjoying the sun. We went hiking at Sylvan Island in Moline with the dog- highly recommend. We had absolutely EVERYTHING we needed at Carla’s as she thought of everything. This absolutely will be my go-to spot to stay at when I visit my family near the Quad Cities. Something to keep in mind, the door was a little tricky! It took us several times to figure it out but if you have any troubles, Carla is right around the corner to help! 5 stars in every regard.”
