**During the wintertime, you must have AWD or 4WD to drive up the 3/4 mile driveway, otherwise be prepared to hike in** Surrounded by over 1,000 acres of undeveloped forests, this tiny 10x10 cabin offers deep relaxation in nature. Ski resorts are within 45 minutes. During the winter, guests must make a fire in the cabin's wood stove for heat! The bathroom is a compost outhouse and is located ~20 feet from the cabin. Bring a sleeping bag and headlamp!
“Sara was a stellar host. Not only was she very communicative, but also extended a very warm welcome, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. She provided awesome tips for local hikes and restaurants, and offered to help me get my car out of the mud on the way out (which was my fault for driving further than her directions specified). The cabin was a sanctuary. It was nothing short of magical and provided a safe space to reflect, meditate, and read. This stay was exactly what I needed in order to reset and get back to what's most important in life. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a healing journey into nature. I would go back again in a heartbeat.”
Come stay in our renovated school house! This guest suite has great history. It has a spacious room with private entrance and private bathroom. Original wood floors, ornate copper ceilings, private driveway and private deck. Minutes from great hiking, waterfalls, lakes and ponds, and gorgeous scenic views. I have a 5 star cleanliness rating and can ensure that every surface is thoroughly sanitized between guests.
“Super comfortable and cozy place that is exceptionally clean. It was the perfect spot for some rest after a long drive. The fact that it was an old schoolhouse is interesting, but it’s beautiful inside! The little things she did were appreciated.”
Sorry, we have had several requests, but cannot accept reservations until June 1, so we blocked until then. Maine Gov. Mills May 14 Executive order says “Maine lodging providers can begin accepting reservations arriving June 1st for Mainers & for non-residents who comply with the State’s 14-day quarantine requirement. Violators may be charged $1,000 fine and 6 months in jail. Lodging operators in violation are subject to penalties."
“Kevin & Felicia were wonderful and so was their home. It was sparkling clean, had a tv in every room, loaded with everything you could need (ie plates, cups, board games, towels, etc), and having a washer and drier was awesome. They were also very fast to respond when contacted. The only cons they are very upfront about well before hand. The first con being the paper mill right behind the house that made for a stinky morning. The second being the solo heating zone so you have to sacrifice some heat downstairs so you're not blistering hot upstairs. But as I said, I wouldnt dock them for this because they lay it all out there for you so if these two things are a problem then just dont rent the place. I would absolutely stay here again, especially for the value.”
