Delight greets the eye in every corner of this home designed by Hungarian artist-architect Andras Kaldor and owner Richard Johnston. From the hallway's built-in Buddha to the array of sailing boats on the upstairs beams, it oozes character, while an upstairs balcony overlooks the grass tennis court. Unwind in a boat seat on the deck over the babbling Barberry Brook — or lounge upstairs in the sitting room, listening to a vinyl played on your record player while the wood burner keeps you warm. Wherever you glance there is character — in the paintings, books, ornaments, art or furnishings.
“Absolutely loved staying at Shiela’s very special folly! The wider hotel was lovely too and we were welcomed and helped out with all logistics. Location wise Fingals is very well positioned for local amenities and has lots of great coastal walks that you can just set out for on foot. Everything else along the dart river is within easy striking distance by car. The facilities at Fingals are great, particularly the gym which has all the equipment you could want (except for a running machine - but really the area is amazing for running so get out and and about if that’s your thing) It’s hard to over state how charming and comfortable the place is. I strongly recommend you visit. I certainly hope we’ll be back.”

Explore the South West Coast Path, then snuggle up for a relaxed night on the quaint, checked sofa at this cozy, single-storey cottage nestled in a shared courtyard. Whitewashed stone walls, pastel-hued panelling, and soft cream creates a snug feel.
“The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience”
