Chalet vacation rentals in Carrabassett Valley

Jonathan and Lisa were wonderful hosts! We stayed 3 nights to enjoy some Spring skiing at Saddleback. The home was close to town and a quick drive to Saddleback mountain. The house is perched high on a hill overlooking Rangeley lake. The downside is that the driveway is steep and icy (this time of year due to the recent March thaws) but the view and sunsets are breathtaking!! For an additional fee, you can enjoy their newly built sauna and whirlpool. So relaxing after a day of skiing that we booked it twice. The house has all the comforts of home. Being culinary masters, we had a bit of a struggle in the small kitchen. But certainly most everything you need to prepare great meals. Communication with the hosts was excellent and timely.

Magnificent house and wonderful host. Michael was extremely responsive and accommodating, making sure to ensure our stay was comfortable throughout. The views were stunning and the fireplace was an excellent central point for us all to share during the evenings. We had a wonderful time and the weekend will surely be a fond memory for us. The chalet exceeded our expectations with ease of access to Sunday River and local restaurants. The view was amazing!

We had a great experience at Shelley’s place in Coplin Plantation. The house was spotless on arrival, with plenty of towels/linens for all the guests. Shelley was thoughtful enough to leave us hot chocolate, coffee, and a few essential groceries in the fridge in case of a late arrival. The house was everything and more than we expected and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Sugarloaf/Flagstaff Lake area.

We had a great stay at Kings Retreat this past weekend! Plenty of space for our group friend trip. Lovely surroundings, beautiful views, and a well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfy and fire places were cozy. We even used the grill and fire table on the deck for happy hour after a day of skiing. Would recommend Julia’s property for anyone looking to be close to Sunday River with a large group! Will be back again :)

We were in town for a charity benefit concert on the mountain. As two non-skiers, the location was great because we were away from the traffic but could easily get to the mountain and its amenities.

It’s a wonderful home and has everything you need to feel comfy and at home. Took my teenage boys and younger sister for a four night five day get away and was well worth it. Darcey is a great host and very responsive and very helpful. Will definitely be continuing my stays here in the future ❤️

We loved our stay and would return! Perfect for our two families looking to do some spring skiing. We got lucky and caught the last couple days of the ski in/ski out trails being accessible. Loved dinner at Portage and the hanging out at Moose alley. Highly recommend!

We stayed for five nights and had a really relaxing time. The house is just outside of a little town and right off a quiet road. The views from the house are great and the home has huge windows facing the lake. We had a great time using the hot tub. We went on walks nearby and enjoyed getting outside. For the rainy days, the couches upstairs and downstairs are very comfortable and the TVs are easy to use. I would definitely recommend your stay here if you are looking for a peaceful few days.

Michael was a very thoughtful and responsive host, with clear instructions and proactive handling of situations. The house itself was very beautiful and comfortably slept everyone in my party of 8. We would definitely recommend AWD and snow tires for those visiting in the middle of winter. There was a huge snowstorm during our visit and Michael was clear about when the plow would be visiting, although we did have to wait a few hours and shovel ourselves out a little bit, but there were shovels on the property to add to the ones we brought in our cars. We felt there was a longer list of checkout instructions compared to other properties but we also felt that Michael and Maggie provided a greater number and higher quality of amenities such as a fully stocked kitchen and bar area. We would definitely visit again to try out the hot tub and boat in the summer. Thank you to the hosts for sharing your home with us for the weekend!

There’s nothing like having your morning coffee while listening to the loons calling. During our stay, we were spoiled with gorgeous fall weather that really highlighted this beautiful lake home and wonderful property. Outside, we enjoyed fishing off the dock, the wonderful landscaping and the lovely porches. Inside, the kitchen was perfect for cooking family meals, the fireplace room provided exactly the kind of atmosphere we wanted for a lake house getaway, and all of the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, comfortable and as described. It was a delightful stay for everyone in our group of 9 (all ages, from 1 to 68), and we highly recommend it! Terrific and friendly host, clear instructions for check in and check out, and a superb location.

We loved Mark’s camp! We were in Maine for a few days for our kids swim meet at Colby College and loved coming back between sessions to the tranquility of the camp. The sunrise over the lake was amazing, but the wood burning stove was soooo addicting. I think I need to get one. Mark was very helpful and was accommodating when we needed to stay a little longer. Would definitely go again.
