Difficile d’écrire un avis tant nous avons adoré notre séjour au refuge de l’ermitage! D’abord commencer par dire que Josée est très sympathique, accueillante et qu’elle a à cœur que ses hôtes ne manquent de rien durant leur séjour. Le refuge est un petit paradis sur l’eau, hors du temps. Pas d’eau courante, pas d’électricité, une douche et des toilettes extérieurs, mais même si le confort moderne n’y est pas tout est organisé afin d’y pallier et que le séjour soit très confortable. En réalité, c’est ce qui fait aussi partie du charme de ce chalet! Lecture au coin du feu dans des canapés moelleux entouré par le lac: le bonheur! Merci!

Super beau chalet, avec tout dont ce nous avions besoin et plus!

What a beautiful place!! Gorgeous & very cute cabin with all the necessary amenities. Hot tub with the wind screen was a particular favourite. The fact that this place accepted dogs was so wonderful & helpful, but be careful as this place is directly on a very active ATV trail. We had our dogs collared & leashed, tied up on the property, but had some difficulties with people walking along the ATV trail with unleashed dogs who would just run over. No fault at all on the property owner, just an FYI if you're bringing along your doggos! the ATV trail IS essentially the property driveway. Regardless of this, we had a blast, enjoyed being right on the river, and would book again in a heartbeat (would just be a bit more prepared for dog interactions!). Très beau chalet, bien équipé! La vue sur le lac Matapédia est magnifique et l'accès permet de profiter du couché de soleil et d'une bonne baignade. Les hôtes sont très soucieux du bien-être des visiteurs. Super pour la découverte de ce beau coin de pays!

My friend and I had a fabulous time at this cottage for Easter Weekend! We particularly enjoyed the hot tub. One night, we turned off the lights in the hot tub and saw the stars! It was a beautiful, clear night sky. The beds were very comfortable, and the heat control was accurate and efficient! The kitchen was well equipped with all the tools we needed in order to cook! There were plenty of bath towels, face clothes, hand towels, and dish towels. The bathroom was very warm and cozy, efficient at drying our towels and bathing suits! The stairs were a little steep, so fair warning to anyone who might have knee/mobility issues. Other than that, the place was very modern and beautiful! The lake was so pretty and we enjoyed taking some photos.

We booked Cheryl’s place for a staycation this winter. The location was beautiful and easily accessible. Just a few minutes away from the Mill River Resort. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and looked just like the pictures. Cheryl was quick to respond to any questions. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax in the evening.

Our stay at Black Rapids Retreat in Blackville, NB, was nothing short of amazing! This place offers the perfect balance of relaxation, nature, and modern amenities. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the river and forest, making it an ideal getaway for anyone looking to unwind. The accommodations were spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee on the deck, exploring the scenic surroundings, or simply relaxing by the fire, every moment felt special. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear that a lot of care and attention to detail has gone into making this retreat such a wonderful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Black Rapids Retreat to anyone looking for a perfect blend of nature and comfort. Can’t wait to visit again!
