What a beautiful place!! Gorgeous & very cute cabin with all the necessary amenities. Hot tub with the wind screen was a particular favourite. The fact that this place accepted dogs was so wonderful & helpful, but be careful as this place is directly on a very active ATV trail. We had our dogs collared & leashed, tied up on the property, but had some difficulties with people walking along the ATV trail with unleashed dogs who would just run over. No fault at all on the property owner, just an FYI if you're bringing along your doggos! the ATV trail IS essentially the property driveway. Regardless of this, we had a blast, enjoyed being right on the river, and would book again in a heartbeat (would just be a bit more prepared for dog interactions!). Hard to write a review as we loved our stay at the refuge de l'ermitage! First of all, I would like to say that Josée is very friendly, welcoming and that she is committed to ensuring that her guests have everything they need during their stay. The refuge is a small paradise on the water, timeless. No running water, no electricity, a shower and outdoor toilet, but even if modern comforts are not there, everything is organized to make up for it and make the stay very comfortable. In fact, this is also part of the charm of this cottage! Reading by the fire in soft sofas surrounded by the lake: happiness! Thank you!

Responsiveness and communication at the rendezvous, every detail has been thought out, we loved our stay and will be back with great pleasure! You spoil your hosts with kindness. Very nice cottage, well equipped! The view of Lake Matapédia is stunning and the access allows you to enjoy the sunset and a good swim. The hosts are very concerned about the well-being of visitors. Great for discovering this beautiful part of the country!

We booked Cheryl’s place for a staycation this winter. The location was beautiful and easily accessible. Just a few minutes away from the Mill River Resort. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and looked just like the pictures. Cheryl was quick to respond to any questions. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax in the evening.

Our stay was made even more special because after a full Day of skiing we came back to our ‘ home away from home’. Superb set up, comfy beds, well appointed kitchen. And close to ski hill.
