Vacation rentals with lake access in Charente

We had a great time! Marie-Claude is charming and welcoming. The place is ready for a green one! In a quiet, typical and flowery place, it is a real haven of serenity. If in addition you are lovers of bucolic walks, this is the perfect place. I would 100% recommend!

The environment is beautiful the accommodation is fine especially the kittens who were the best thank you very 🤩 much.

The painting and layout looks recent, it's very clean. There is everything you need, even coffee pods. The doors of the bedrooms upstairs go directly off the staircase be careful if there are small children. On the other hand, there are plenty of equipment that is suitable for children. Very kind host, good communication before/during/after the stay. Convenient lockbox for check-in and checkout. It is a hamlet with a set of houses and barns, if late arrival at night a little more complicated to find the right house.

Corrine and Stéphane are exceptional hosts! They go above and beyond to ensure that all guests feel welcome and taken care of throughout their stay. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality make the trip perfect in every way. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be recommending their place to everyone we know. We can for another visit!

Very nice welcome from Sandrine and Thierry. Their studio is impeccable, tastefully decorated and true to photos. In addition, it is a very quiet place, conducive to rest.

Catherine and Michel are available and very kind. We chose their outbuilding as part of the FIBD. Although a little out of the way, their cozy and warm accommodation was quite accessible using buses (15min from Angouleme train station) throughout the festival. A big thank you!

Annick and Patrick are amazing hosts? They are helpful and friendly and speak several languages. When we stayed with them they took us and several of the other guests to an outdoor food festival, which was great and then after that we walked around the lake and saw a live band and had plenty of singing and dancing. They are very knowledgeable about their home country and eager to impart their knowledge. You cannot go wrong staying at Tartou with this couple and the fabulous views over the countryside.

Accessible accommodation in the city center, pleasant and clean

The house is very nice and spacious, the location is also very convenient with a local supermarket within walking distance. Beautiful scenery around. The host was always reachable online to answer our questions. We had a very pleasant stay there and would recommend this place for families.

Almost don’t want to say how lovely, as will make it more competitive to book to go back! In a word - glorious! - The gite, gardens and grounds and pool are kept beautifully. Gite was spotless and very well equipped (including lots of goodies on arrival, garden games to use there - kids were very happy - charcoal ready for the bbq etc), huge comfortable beds, and wood fired hot tub to sit and look at the stars. - Stunning surrounding views (endless fields of sunflowers) and lovely shady woods to be walk. - Lots of pretty villages - particularly Aubeterre with its central square and river beach worth the short drive (under 20 mins). We also loved the big river beach at St Aulaye (c.40 mins). - Meg and Mark are kind, fun and knowledgeable hosts who were perfect balance of around and incredibly helpful - but very much left us to just relax and enjoy the gite/pool as our own. - Shopping v easy at local supermarkets, various markets and nearby village shop/butchers. Thank you!!

Great for a short stay in a beautiful part of France! The host instructions re. local amenities and activities are super helpful given the relatively remote location.

A nice discovery. We really enjoyed our stay with Dominique and Xavier. The house was very nice and functional. The weather was not suitable and it's a shame because we could have enjoyed the private garden furniture. Xavier is responsive but discreet. We felt right at home. We will be back.

We had an wonderful time. The house was great and the garden is huge with an orchard in the next field which we could access. It is an absolutely beautiful place. We were made to feel very at home by Laetitia, Thierry and family (they were in the main house for some days of our stay and the rest of the time we were alone on the vast property). They were extremely generous about letting us use games and canoes etc and could not have been more welcoming to us. The surrounding area is very beautiful and peaceful. The river is nearby and there are lots of possible areas for swimming as well as walking. We really enjoyed visits to Angouleme and Cognac and other pretty villages. Most of all we enjoyed sitting in the garden reading and relaxing and going running in small largely deserted roads around the house. It was a really lovely holiday and I would definitely recommend this highly and fully hope to go back again.

Everything is done to feel at home. Julie thinks of the smallest details, whether for cooking, occupying the children, in the event of a power outage 😉 His tips offered in the manual were very useful to us and allowed us to have an ideal stay! Everything was perfect! Happy parents and kids!!!!
