Renee started hosting three and a half years ago in her spare time, as her husband worked as a tour guide and was frequently away. Through hosting guests from around the world, it makes her feel like she is travelling and broadens her mind. Renee also manages a small business, operating the local organic shop in the area. Renee is looking to broaden her offering on Airbnb by providing education sessions for other hosts on Airbnb, and she wants the entire Airbnb community in Queenstown to be the best it can be, by ensuring that guests from all over the world have the best experiences possible.

A 25-year career in marketing left Liz at a career crossroads and wanting to take over control of her own destiny. She felt as though a career change could be challenging, having been in one industry for so long, and wasn’t sure what was next. That’s when she discovered her love for welcoming and hosting new people. Liz is passionate about helping travellers find their feet in a new city while pointing out hidden local gems—consequently she even started her own walking tour in Auckland. Liz says designing and creating her own Airbnb Experience has been empowering, and it gives her a confidence boost and sense of purpose every day. She also loves being her own boss!
