Chalet vacation rentals in Eastern Sierra

I have stayed in a lot of Airbnbs and this was the best experience ever. I feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to spend time here with my kids and get to know Jean and Dave. Their log home is beautiful, soulful, and a marvel of engineering. The views of the meadow and surrounding peaks are breathtaking. It's also very convenient to Kirkwood. The kids loved riding in the snow cat and t playing with their adorable St. Bernese. The breakfasts were also outstanding--especially the sourdough pancakes with organic strawberries. But the best thing about the experience was Jean and Dave, hosts who really took an interest in their guests and have fostered a welcoming and engaging community of travelers. We hope to get the chance to return soon!

This home was a dream for a girls weekend in Tahoe. It’s relatively close to Stateline and served our needs perfectly. I can’t speak highly enough of the communication and responsiveness of the host. Moreover, the home is super comfortable and there were 6 of us- we never felt like we were on top of each other, yet we could all sit together at the dining table and living room couch with plenty of room for activities and conversation. The kitchen was a dream and wonderfully appointed- I was happy to find plenty (like 10+) of plates, bowls, etc. accompanied by cooking utensils, serving utensils, cutting boards, storage items, and spices. We’d definitely come back in a heartbeat and would have stayed an extra day if we could.

This place is not a regular Airbnb. It is a magical place. The lodge was absolutely gorgeous. It is the best log home I've ever seen. The winter scenery from every window was breathtaking. The home has everything. I couldn't believe it was off grid. A little squirrel came to the bedroom window to say hi every morning. Snowshoeing to "Magic Meadow" from the doorstep was a perfect winter hike. What makes this place magical is not only the property and the location, but also the host!! Dave, Jean, and Cub were super warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and taken care of. On top of that, the breakfast was fantastic! I can't think of anything to add to the experience.

My 7yr old and myself had an unforgettable stay! The house was fantastic and the surrounding is stunningly beautiful. Rooms are super clean and very cozy. Jean and Dave (and their dog Cub) are very friendly and easy to communicate. Plan to come back next snow season with the full family!

So glad we came to stay here! Absolutely felt at home. I kept telling my wife if we could I’d buy this place right now because I loved it so much. And everything that came with the house was a HUGE plus. All the boat/water toys were a lifesaver! The host was very responsive and helpful. I asked if they had an EZ-Up and she said no but placed in order for one so I’d have one during our stay! Definitely will be returning. 10/10

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful home! It was an unforgettable experience, especially for my mom, who saw wild deer for the first time. The house had everything we needed to enjoy a unique and special family time, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. I will definitely recommend this place to others. This property was better than expected. Isaac is uh the man. Very responsive. We got Stuck in a snow storm and he was very responsive. Everything was as advertised. Family had a great time. Just a few things that don’t take away from a 5 star. Place is a little dated. TV needs to be updated. It worked but too dull. Could not watch television… not his fault. Snow storm messed with the satellite. Kitchen light has to be brighter. Snow plowing guy did not do a good job. Elderly parents had a rough time getting in. Basic things but what an experience. We will definitely be back! Thanks Isaac

What a beautiful and charming cabin! We felt right at home. The cabin is really big and had plenty of beds for our group of 9. There were extra. It was nice the cabin was dog friendly. The kids had a great time in the game room & China Peak was only a five minute drive away. We enjoyed the snow and walking around the lake. Only con's was there was no dishwasher detergent and only a very limited supply of toilet paper. We almost ran out towards the end of our 3 night stay and the little market down the street didn't have any for purchase. Driving to Shaver for TP would have been a bummer!!

An absolutely beautiful house 9 minutes from Sierra. The house has everything we needed and was clean, modern and tasteful. Our kids loved the bunkbeds and we loved staring out the windows at the mountains. we are looking to stay here again!

Absolutely loved it. 4 adults and 3 kids and we had room to spare. Hot tub was perfect, huge spacious living room w super high ceilings and great kitchen. Comfy beds, quiet location, will def stay again!

Gorgeous home with amazing view. Everything was perfect, beds were comfortable, house was clean, and very spacious home. The view of the snow covered mountain almost seemed unreal!

This home was beautiful. It was the perfect size for my family. It was only a 15 minute drive from heavenly and a 5 minute drive from the grocery store. The rooms were a lot bigger than I thought. I would absolutely stay here again.
