“We had a great stay at the cottage. The cottage was small but very cozy. It was very warm inside as well. We enjoyed the bathroom more than expected due to the cold weather. I think the cottage is located very well to make a ton of day trips. We had unique experiences like walking on a glacier, entering an ice cave, seeing a frozen crater, being in the blue lagoon while freezing outside, the geyser blowing and the water freezing on the ground (oh yes a lot of people felt down :-) , went to the famous black beach with the big waves, etc. We stayed a week with a 9- and 7-years old and we were sad to leave the island. The island and the cottage are really worthwhile ! We even saw the Northern Lights (that was not an easy one though due to the cloudy weather. Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage and have all these unique experiences!”

“We had a lovely stay at the Ecohouse in December. The rooms were lovely and spacious and the house had a modern but homely touch to it. It’s situated in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood that’s close enough for all kinds of trips. During our stay, we did the golden circle tour which was about an hour away, a Reykjavik day which was just under an hour away and the south coast tour. Ragnar was a lovely host and was responsive throughout and the lead up to the trip. I would definitely recommend staying at the Ecohouse:)”

It's close to Selfoss and Highway 1 (just 10 minutes by car), 45 minutes from downtown Reykjavík or the Golden Circle. But it's just far enough off the beaten path to be a quiet and peaceful little oasis away from all the tourists. This studio is one of 13 apartments built especially for guests at the old fish factory.
“We stayed at Jessi’s for a night half way through our Iceland trip on the way to see the south coast, Jessi provided coordinates for the GPS so we found it with no problem at all. We were here for my boyfriends birthday and got a wonderful dinner at a restaurant just down the street on the right! Check in was easy, we received the key at the reception desk of the hotel connected to the apartments, the apartment was clean with a little kitchen area for preparing food as well as a fridge and freezer, there was also a tv with Roku which was nice half way through our trip before traveling to the south coast!”
