This is a unique and special BnB with friendly people who really care. Excellent value because the rooms are high standards, well equipped with basics and a full hot breakfast is included. The secure parking, garden, pool and common areas are added value so really appreciate the affordability of this room (#3).

Felicity and her family were amazing hosts. I sent my teenage daughter there and Felicity made sure she picked her up when she arrived and also drop her back off to board when she left. She also communicated with me once they had settled in. She transported my daughter where she needed to be and when she couldn’t transport her she gave her clear and caring instructions on how to use Bolt. My daughter was extremely happy with her accommodation and expressed to me that the Ntsitlola’s took great care of her. they really didn’t have to go the extra mile, but she did. Also, her home is in a safe neighborhood.

It’s more than a place to eat; it’s a charming escape into history. The farmhouse, dating back to the 1800s, is a well-preserved gem. Its rustic charm and character, combined with meticulous care, create an inviting and unique atmosphere. What truly sets The Melkkan apart is its family-friendly appeal. Willemien hosts music events featuring Afrikaans musicians, providing a vibrant, welcoming space where families can relax and enjoy. Children can explore while parents soak in the atmosphere. Whether travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town or passing through Welkom, The Melkkan is an essential stop, offering history, hospitality, and memories to cherish.

We had a lovely stay, we travelled to Potchefstroom for my daughter's 21st Birthday. Leonard invited our daughter to have breakfast with us and kindly provided a bottle of champagne for her to celebrate her birthday. Exceptional hosts!

Beautiful place, with a beautiful garden and very peaceful. I will definitely return here anytime I'm in the area. It's home away from home and Brenda is an awesome host who is very helpful, responsive and accommodating. The place is very serene.

The place is really lovely. It is better in person than in pictures . If you need a place in Harrismith or take a quick break on the N3 then this is the place to book. Friendly stuff
