“Was amazing space with constant ocean breezes. I reccomend this place especially if you don’t want to be in the GL/cloud 9 hectic rhythm of tourists everywhere It’s a quiet place for sure. no loud music or parties on the beach here! Rooms are peaceful and simple set up with a front porch area with couches to enjoy the ocean breezes On the beachfront our hammocks and simple Bamboo loungers Best to make a plan ahead for foods. The communal Kitchen has basic utensils and pots and pans with complimentary DIY breakfast items like eggs and pancake mix and coffee I suggest. Bringing back foods and snacks from town to store in the communalFridge and storage bins ( like fruit ,bread , and snacks ) instead of having to go back to town when your hungry as it’s a bit of a distance from town. It was nice to see the chiller filled with refreshments all self serve and payment on a honor system at check out I did find that next door at Retreat resort has restaurant that accommodates walk-in guests for breakfast albeit a basic breakfast for 400php”
Tastefully minimalist and nestled in a lush garden setting, this modern-traditional villa is located in the upcoming yet peaceful part of town. It's only 3-5 minutes to Cloud9 by motorbike. The villa has: •a very comfortable (not cheap) queen mattress and queen pillows •spacious private shower and toilet •mini refrigerator & freezer •electronic kettle & cups/glasses •security safe for your valuables •free Wi-Fi •equipped with a huge 5-speed ceiling fan *NO WATER HEATER FOR HOT SHOWERS *NO AC
“There’s no expectations vs reality in here because what you see/read in the photos and the listing description is what you’ll exactly get! ❤️ Villa - cozy, elegant, not your typical concrete accommodation. It’s very spacious and the bed’s extremely comfortable. Essentials - Jacque provides 2bath towels, liquid hand soap and bath soap. Bring your own shampoo and stuff coz those are preferential stuff anyway. Location - this is in Catangnan area, few mins away from Cloud 9. If you wanted a walking distance accommodation to the busy strip of General Luna, this is not the place for you. But if you want a peaceful, serene sleep after surfing and/or partying - then here you have it! Note: you’ll have to walk for about 3-5mins in an unpaved road to get to the main road. Transportation- there are trikes and “habal-habal” motorcycles on the main road, but you can walk up to Cloud 9 and get a cheaper transpo. Fare can get pretty expensive especially at night. If you know how to drive a scooter/motorcycle, get one from Jacque, easier and much more convenient. Just don’t forget to bring your driver’s license and always wear a helmet even if no policeman looking! Food - There’s mini stores nearby and can be reached on foot. But the legit food strip including Isla Mercato Food Bazaar is in General Luna, the central district as they say. You can buy food/drinks anyway and store it in your mini fridge. Tip: bring power-banks and portable fan if you’re my type, the isla gets multiple power outages lately at night.”
Jacking Horse Homestay has seen rising and shifting of tides even before surfing is born on the island of Siargao. Owned & designed by the first renowned surfing champion of Siargao, and woodworker artist Rudy Figuron, along with his wife Lucita and family live by the sea. They open doors to travelers who needed a ‘home’ on the island. Today, the homestay remains a symbol of hospitality & gladly welcomes anyone who shares the love of the ocean and the passion for island nature discovery.
“The place is literally a minute away from jacking horse, one of the surfing spots, which made learning surfing very easy. The host is super friendly and is always around to interact with the guests. Mary was extremely helpful when it came to settling in the island and surfing. The island itself is underdeveloped, but i feel like this place is one of the best places the island has to offer.”
