The house stands alone in a sea of fields, swept by the wind, in a large perennial garden. With the help of many fellow artists and friends, this formerly unspectacular guesthouse from the 1990s was renovated and refurbished, and a garden was created with the help of landscape designer Rainer Elstermann. Through continuous growth and change, an idyllic place has emerged – and continues to emerge – that can accommodate 10 people in the guest area and 8 people in the studio area, which is mainly used privately.

Ideal for fishing, forest walks and cycling on the Blue Velo trail, with direct access to the water, dock, beach and forest. Beautiful lake views and peaceful sunsets complete the experience year-round.

Relax in this special and quiet accommodation, picturesque village Ihlow, in the Märkische Schweiz (5km walk through the forest to Buckow), 55km east of Berlin. You can swim in the Reichenower Lake (3km) or in the Grosser Thornowsee. If you don't have a car, you can get there by bus or bicycle (18km) from Straussberg Nord station. Our cottage is located directly behind the dyke. We have combined the old charm of the former lock keeper's cottage with some modern amenities and a bit of flair.
