The cottage that we believe was built in 1780. Set in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Plenty of local walks, to check out our stunning countryside. We are a 10 minute walk to the North Dorset Trailway. Unfortunately there is no pub in the village, we are a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest pub The White Horse in Stourpaine (highly recommend). Conveniently situated for Blandford Camp and the Royal signals museum, the Great Dorset Steam Fair and just a stones throw away from Bryanston School.
“A lovely clean cosy room in a family home full of nice touches (plentiful toiletries, water by bed, phone chargers etc). Tea and coffee always available and a plentiful breakfast. The room and dining area situated on one 'side' of the house with own entrance so private with as little or much interaction with the hosts as you wanted. Treena and Aubrey (and Spud, the cool dog) were lovely and friendly, very helpful even offering us a lift to our local party venue. Thankyou”
Stylish and contemporary lodge, located in a peaceful position within the pretty Dorset village of Ansty. The beautifully presented lodge is light and spacious throughout with stunning views from the open plan living, dining, kitchen area. Doors open to large decked area for alfresco dining. A cosy wood burner is perfect for the cooler evenings and of course the real highlight is the luxurious hot tub to be enjoyed all year round!
“Stunning location with breath-taking views, very private and stylish lodge. Going in the hot tub after a long countryside walk was just the ticket. The nearby pub was lovely and food was delicious. Will be going back!”
This is a small brick built building set on a hill at Shortlake Farm just to the south of the village. It is built on the site of a WWII gun battery, and commands panoramic views over Weymouth & Portland, and out across the English Channel. It is located just off a quiet no-through-road, up a gravel track, and is surrounded by pasture. Apart from the outstanding views, the SW Coastpath is nearby for walks into Weymouth (3m) and Lulworth Cove (7m). Osmington village with The Sunray pub, and a couple of small shops, is about a 5 minutes walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 5 minutes or so across the fields. The accommodation consists of a main living/ bedroom area, with table and chairs, double bed and wardrobes, TV with DVD, and the picture window! The front door enters into the kitchen, which has the usual essentials including a washing machine, fridge and combi oven. The bathroom with shower and toilet is located off the other end of the living area.Outside a small patio area with table and chairs overlooks Weymouth Bay, and continues beyond onto grassy fields. The pictures speak for themselves - 180 degree plus uninterrupted views over the surrounding sea and coastline. Around the property are fields belonging to the farm where we graze sheep and occasionally cattle.Pets welcome, borrow a dog, Farm Shop, no smoking, conservatory.
“An ideal location for a perfect getaway with incredible views and beautiful walks. The dogs enjoyed it as much as we did! The hot tub overlooking the bay was definitely a highlight. Despite a few minor issues with the accommodation we had the most wonderful relaxing stay. The fireplace was perfect for the rainy nights and it was a very thoughtful touch to provide enough wood for our two-night stay. We would definitely return and would recommend a stay in this lovely place.”
