“We slept two nights in this place with our baby. It's well located to explore the area (we went to Nigardsbreen, Solvorn, Urnes, Sogneford for example). We were glad to see that the sheets and towels were provided and the room was warm when we arrived. This only drawback was that we could ear the footsteps of the people walking upstairs (the flat is located in the ground floor of the owner's house).”
Beim-Gard, nicely located in the idyllic village Hafslo. A traditional, restored farmhouse, from 1890, has 5 bedrooms, 2 living-rooms and kitchen w/equipment. Large outdoor area. We have a link for each 5 rooms in the house, search for 1-2 persons and those links will come up, and you can choose what kind of room you want. From around 400kr to 800kr. N.B.! Important!: If you are less than 6 people you will get 3 rooms, and 2 rooms (up to 4 guest more) will be available for others to rent.
“This is an older family farmhouse that has been repurposed as a rental property (kids have grown up but owners just live down the road). It is in a beautiful quiet lakeside location about 20 min from Sogndal which is a nice university town with several great grocery stores. There is a Spar about 5 min walk from the house for the basics. There are ducks and goats on the property and lots of apple and plum trees. If you are looking for a real rural Norwegian experience this is a great spot. Kitchen is well equipped and rooms are clean. We did two of the National scenic routes nearby. Aurlandsfjellet is very close and takes about 2hrs round trip. Sognesfjellet is a longer route but if you go halfway up and then return the same way you will see more than enough. The Urmes Stave church is also very close. Overall, it is a great place to stop for a couple of days if you are doing a car trip across Norway. We would stay here again without hesitation. On a final note, if you are just a couple you may be sharing the house with another party as it is quite large. We have a family of 6 so we paid for the whole house. Check with Berit for details when you book. She is very friendly and helpful and speaks good English.”
Spacious and recently renovated 2 bedroom apartment (with cots on request), kitchen with everything you need for cooking, bathroom, laundry room, TV with RiksTV and free WiFi access.
“First of all, Kirsten welcomed us with homemade warm waffles and jam from her garden berries! Such a treat! This is a fully functioning two-bed apartment below the host's house on the second floor, but is completely quiet. You will find everything you need here with the sweetest view of the little village of Hofslo and a lovely fjord. Frankly, sometimes I just wanted to sit and stare out the window all day! There was a very nice veranda, including table and chairs facing the water, but it was a little cold when we were visiting to take advantage of sitting outside, unfortunately... The place itself was perfect, but what really made this a stand-out, besides dear Kirsten, was the huge binder full of all the surrounding attractions (of which there is a surplus!) She included brochures and divided the binder into "maps", "dining", "hiking", etc. We used it like a bible to plan our daily activities! (I wish more AirBnB hosts would provide this kind of help on what to do in the area.) Because we were visiting in the off-season, I needed to ask Kirsten to help with information about open roads, ferry schedules, etc that I couldn't find on-line, and she always quickly obliged with the latest accurate information, which was much appreciated.”
