“Outstanding hospitality! Everything you could ever need or want in a stay was accounted for. The floor was very private, had amazing views as advertised, and Stephen and Susan were just a text away! Superb location right outside of a very cool little town. You definitely get your money’s worth and more.”
This spacious studio apartment is located in the former Swedish Congregational Church in historic Swedeville, a secluded hilly neighborhood built by Swedish immigrants in the 1800's. For years it housed Rick and Liza’s stained glass studio, which they have now lovingly and creatively transformed into a residence. The rental is minutes from the interstate and one mile from downtown Brattleboro, but the neighborhood has a rural and somewhat European flavor to it.
“This was the perfect place for a creative retreat! Liza’s place is beautiful with so many thoughtful details- art, local recommendations, even a box of my favorite tea! Liza and Rick were gracious hosts -quick to answer any of my questions! I loved waking up to views of the garden and forest. With its location in walking distance of downtown and hiking trails, I could not have asked for anything more. I will definitely be back!”

“The Sugar Barn was quaint, clean, and accommodating. Ruth was quick to respond to messages and gave great suggestions for activities in the area. The view from the room was incredible. There were games to play, snacks provided, and helpful maps in the room. Use of the fire pit was a wonderful addition to the experience. Staying in such a nice place definitely amplified the trip to Vermont!”
