“Amazing stay at Jim’s guest house. This isn’t just a room for the night! There is a full size kitchen with everything you need to cook and a grill outside. The patio is off to the side so you get your own privacy and the cushions are extremely soft! They have TV and Internet Incase you need to watch Family Feud. The bathroom is large enough for two people to get ready at once. The bed is extremely comfortable. You are about 15 mins from both Walmart or Lake Geneva. Very private area so you don’t hear the neighbors or even passing cars. There is a reason Jim is a SuperHost and our stay was amazing! Thank you again.”
Our guest house is located on a picturesque 5 acres, next to a woodland forest. We also run a bird sanctuary on the property, Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary, which makes this a paradise for an animal lover! We are happy to give guests a tour of our sanctuary. There is a large deck and fire pit for an enjoyable evening, and a walking trail for wildlife enthusiasts! We kindly ask guests not to bring meat onto the property as we are running a sanctuary that promotes compassion for all animals.
“I had such a great time staying here. The bed was comfortable. The back deck has a swing for relaxing with a view of all the birds in the sanctuary. Nothing better than watching the chickens with my morning coffee. If you don't ask for a sanctuary tour you are missing out. What a compassionate place to stay. As an animal lover it doesn't get better than this. It everything I needed.”
Only two blocks from the Woodstock square, your room is located within our historic 1902 Craftsman home, the Louis G. Wilcox House. Beyond your private quarters, you will be greeted by artwork, taxidermy, plants, strange antiques, our adorable dogs, Keaton and Jingles, and tabby cat, Oliver! Anyone familiar with the film Groundhog Day will find the area recognizable, as our home is just down the street from the inn where the movie was filmed!
“The House of Odd is a fitting name for this charming old home. I was a bit concerned that there might not be enough room for my adult son and me, but Colleen & Matt accommodated us with extra room, plus fridge & freezer space. Frankly, they were two of the incest people I've met in this business! Their pets are lovable and the laundry facilities were free. Some of the hanging pictures inside may not be suitable for children, but they were more than generous in every way during our month long stay. We were more than happy!”
