Aloha Nature Lovers

OfiraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you’re looking for a rustic & remote getaway, this is the spot for you! Highlights included sitting in the armchairs and looking out at the ocean, the private waterfall and swimming hole just a short walk away, sleeping with all of the sounds of nature at night, and the beautiful property overall. The bed was a bit cramped and uncomfortable for two people. The drive to get to the property is along unpaved and uneven roads and was challenging. Communication with the host was great! Overall, would absolutely recommend to all.

Ocean-View Retreat in Kona Countryside

SteffenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful and well-maintained home. The ocean view from the balcony was stunning, and the house was tidy and comfortable. Communication with the host was prompt and friendly, making the experience smooth from start to finish. It’s a great base for exploring the island—just keep in mind that having a car is essential. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

Wonderful stay! Private, peaceful, gorgeous views. The Mango hut was added bonus to sit with morning coffee. Close to local beaches and close enough to Kona. We experienced local Hawaii, outdoor bathroom, the song of the frogs, the slower pace. All that we imagined.

Oceanfront Cottage @ Kehena Beach

RobertoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Talk about an absolutely beautiful area with a cute little cottage to add the cherry on the cake. The cottage had ample space, privacy, and true character. Being able to listen to the coquis sing at night was music to my ears. Having the black sand beach nearby was also an amazing addition. I would 10/10 stay here again.

Holualoa Ekahi -Country guest house,Taxes included

EllenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed just one quick night here after landing on the island. It was a great little space. Very clean, seemed brand new, convenient to town, and you could see the ocean from the cute front porch. The bed was very soft, like a cloud you melted into. Normally I don't like soft beds but this one was nice. It is a stand alone space but wasn't quite as private/secluded as I thought. In case someone wanted more privacy, but it wasn't an issue for us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Kuono at Volcano

JamieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We recently stayed at this incredible cabin on the Big Island, and it was truly magical. The setting was serene and surrounded by nature, making it feel like a peaceful retreat tucked away from the world. The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed—from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy touches that made it feel like home. Every detail was thoughtful and well-appointed, and we felt instantly relaxed the moment we arrived. It’s the kind of place where you can sip your coffee while listening to the birds, then wind down by the fire after a day of exploring. We left feeling refreshed and full of gratitude for such a special experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience the beauty and calm of the Big Island.

Garden Suite at Onomea

ErinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The suite is in a beautiful, serene setting. It was meticulously clean and a perfect set up for the two of us. The kitchenette was well stocked and, though we did not use the BBQ grill, it was easily accessible just outside of the suite. The botanical gardens are a short drive or lovely walk away. Hilo is a quick drive and has restaurants and grocery stores. The location is wonderful for enjoying nature and exploring other parts of the island. We would definitely book again the next time we are in the area. Highly recommend.

Kealakekua Bay Bali Cottage -steps from Bay

RyanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Really unique and relaxing place. Karen and Ron were very welcoming and hospitable. We seemed to be there on the rare days when the sky was dumping buckets, so the outdoor areas got a little damp. The kitchen is fully equipped, bed super comfortable. Bathroom and shower are awesome. The backyard and entire decoration on the property are just amazing. Quick walk to Manini beach with awesome snorkeling and knowledgeable friendly caretakers. Things to note, as it is noted in the description: this is glamping. You're out in nature, geckos chase each other on the walls while you eat, flies, mosquitos, spiders, ants all exist. Birds wake you up with their songs at first light, etc. TL;DR Would visit again

FREE VNP PASS, Glamping, Kitchenette, Washer/Dryer

MeganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My stay here was lovely and just what I needed for a few days on the island. Jessie was very responsive and kind! The room with outdoor small fridge, sink, shower, and toilet felt very private even though their home was close by. You will have to drive for about 15min down gravel roads (off the main road) to get here, so just know it's not the easiest location if you want to be able to come and go throughout the day. The path to the room is grass, but is lit by motion detecting lights. Finally, there is an adorable cat that likes to hang out and greeted me as I walked to the room and every morning I was there.

We had a wonderful stay at Mina and Mark’s. The studio was clean and well equipped with all essentials, along with beach essentials too. The location was perfect for us, since we could easily drive to Kahuluu and Magic Sands beach. They were very responsive as hosts and we had plenty of privacy. Looking forward to staying here again. Ohia Hideaway Bed & Breakfast

JonathanRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We had such a wonderful stay in Volcano - we loved all the amenities provided and really made use of everything. The back porch is beautiful and tranquil. We grilled outside the first night and had a drink next to the fire table before relaxing in the hot tub. It was so great to have breakfast provided each day before exploring Volcano national park, and it was awesome Pamela and Kenzie were able to accommodate my partner being celiac / gluten free. I hope we have an excuse to stay here again in the future!

The Flower Bed

EmilyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The Flower Bed was one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. I needed a place to lay my head and rest for one night and came across Laura’s listing. The photos looked gorgeous, the location worked well, it had amenities I wanted, and the price was reasonable, so I decided to book. I am so glad that I did. Laura’s check-in instructions were so clear and the directional photos in the app were super helpful, too. Even when arriving in the dark of night, I was able to easily find the location due to the detailed directions provided. When I pulled in, I was greeted by the beautiful view of the Flower Bed all lit up by the cute string lights that line the edges of the dwelling. Once inside, I was struck by how homey it felt right from the get go. Laura has it decorated so well. It’s such a cozy little space. The outdoor shower was actually very enjoyable with the warm water. And the outdoor toilet was super clean and comfortable to use. Thank you so much Laura & fam! :-)

Host was so nice and I loved his puppy! Amazing location off grid and so beautiful. Try to get to property before sun goes down or else it’s a little hard to find the gate on the dirt road. Outhouse and shower available but not heated. It worked for me! I love outdoor showers ☺️

Mauka Pines - private cabin near Kona & beaches

AlyssaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
It was such a pleasure to stay in Spencer’s home. Such a nice vibe when we met him and to stay in his place on the property. Home had everything we needed and the screen door windows helped with really feeling immersed up in the hill with the bird noises. We really needed a calm, out of city, non-resort space. This place exceeded those expectations. Highly recommend for a partial off the grid experience.

This was a really fun place to stay. The jungle experience was one we’re glad we didn’t miss. The surroundings our beautiful. It made us feel like we were in raw, untamed Hawaii. Would definitely stay again if we get back to the big island.

Cozy enchanting cabin with ocean view

ThomasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Private, rustic bungalow on the Big Island’s remoter southern coast. The bungalow has a view of the ocean from the bedroom windows and porch. Also, great view of the stars at night. The friendly hosts are in an adjacent house and proactively provided instructions and local recommendations. They were very responsive to our requests. The house is a little off the Belt Road about midway between Kailua Kona and the Volcano National Park. It is about 30 minutes from the Black Sand Beach. The hosts provided snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, and beach towels at no extra charge.

Welcome House (Hale e Komo Mai) A corner of heaven

AdamRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Loki and Franks place is perfect. It’s in a wonderful location and you can tell they put so many thoughtful touches into the home. The real draw is Loki and Frank themselves however - they are incredibly kind and welcoming, and were beyond generous with us. They shared so much of their knowledge and stories with us, it made our trip. They were even able to accommodate early check in and late check out upon request. We hope to return to see them and their lovely animals soon. Mahalo!

Romantic Treehouse in the Hawaiian Rainforest.

JosephRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Serenity in the small village town of Volcano. Charming little spot surrounded by greenery. Appears recently built - everything looked and functioned new. Phenomenal sliding door windows overlooking the trees. Posh bathroom shower vibes. High ceilings. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and stove. What else do you need?! We enjoyed our brief one night stay very much.

Perfect piece of paradise

Y WRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The accommodations is a two-story house, and there are beautiful plants and singing birds around the place. The host lives around the place. We had a comfortable stay at this place. If you are planning to go to Kona city and the nearby ocean, and Kilauea Volcano Park, I recommend this place. This place is located in the middle of the volcano park when going counterclockwise from Kona city.

Peaceful Private Rainforest Getaway

TaftRating, 5 starstoday
we LOVED our stay at this cabin! It was so clean, and cute. We loved the off grid experience and the beautiful nature surrounding the cabin. It was very comfortable, at first we were worried about the lack of AC but it was not a problem at all. We loved listening to the frogs and birds! The closest beach was about a 20 min drive. Overall a wonderful experience with a great host!! Thank you!
