Welcome to this unique building The Gate House over 150 years old this is where the bell from St Mabyn was forged. It sits in the heart of the village next to the community shop and around the corner from the welcoming pub St Mabyn Inn.
“What a fantastic room and location. It had everything. Perfect for someone travelling on their own or for a couple. It was very cosy and comfy. I loved the porridge pots and hot chocolate for the morning. Great to have the local shop next door and pub a few minutes walk. If you want a room to stay to explore Cornwall then you will be hard to find a better one.”
If you are looking for perfect peace in a beautiful rural setting then The Den is the place for two! If you love walking with or without dogs, again this is the place for you spring, summer, autumn and winter. Dog friendly.
“Just returned from a fabulous relaxing few days away for my husbands 40th. We only live in North Devon and didn’t want to travel too far as we were taking our 7 month old puppy away with us for the first time, who doesn’t travel very well! Martin and Wendy couldn’t have been more hospitable and were even happy to arrange for me a balloon and banners as a surprise for my hubby. A delightful cottage with everything you need. Plenty of logs for the woodburner and very efficient storage heaters. 10 minutes either way from Looe and Polperro, which we enjoyed visiting, and a lovely forest walk on our doorstep. Shops and pub locally are very easy to get to and there is also a local community shop! Feel totally relaxed and will definitely stay there again as an ideal location to get anywhere you would want to visit. Thoroughly recommend staying here!”
Recently restored- self contained unit complete with own bedroom, bathroom, hallway and kitchenette. There is a relaxing atmosphere to the area. You are able to sit outside and enjoy looking out onto the garden and watch the many birds. We welcome well behaved dogs and have provided a small self contained area for them. Five minutes walk from the Camel Trail, many other footpaths and areas for walking. Blisland is a mile away where there is a pub, community shop and post office.
“Fantastic hosts, great communication at all times. The stay was peaceful and in such a beautiful area, our dog Archer loved watching the birds in the garden (as did we!). The surrounding area is great for long walks with stunning views, and perfect to bring dogs along. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed there - Pat and Graham even kindly left us bread and milk. Would happily visit again! Thank you for having us”
