Unfortunately we only spend one night in this superb Manor House. Way too short! This is a fantastic location for a larger group of nature lovers. Beautiful house, nicely decorated and with a stunning view. Cows, horses and baboons in front of your garden, view on the river and the hills, what can you wish for more?!?

We had a wonderful time at David's cottage and would definitely recommend this spot. There's heaps to do in the surrounding areas but just chilling out and disconnecting and exploring the farm is enough! Thank you Colleen and Janie.

Gleich nach der Buchung haben wir eine sehr nette Nachricht von Steven erhalten, unter anderem mit einer sehr exakten Wegbeschreibung. Check in war sehr flexibel, er hat uns persönlich in Empfang genommen und uns alles gezeigt, erklärt und Vorschläge für Unternehmungen gemacht. Und ich will nicht zu viel verraten, aber auch etwas selbst gebackenes von Steven hat uns das Abendessen bereichert. Vielen Dank :) Unterkunft ist sehr schön, entspricht exakt der Beschreibung. Landschaft ringsherum ist ruhig, schöne Aussicht. Sehr empfehlenswert. Besten Dank Wolf

What a wonderful stat!! We absolutely loved the cottage feel with the quiet and remote location. The lapa/pool area was amazing and we spent happy days swimming and evening braais while stargazing. Close to stilbaai for outings and great to come back to the farm to relax. Erica and her staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming and willing to make us comfortable in any way. Highly recommended!!

Die beiden Gastgeber Helen und Owen sind sehr herzliche Menschen, es war sehr einfach sich dort schnell wohl zu fühlen. Wir hatten das Appartment mit eigener Küche und privater Terasse. Es gibt aber auch noch eine Gemeinschaftsküche, die wir hätten nutzen können. Unsere Kutesachen konnten im Garten abgestellt und getrocknet werden. Es gibt reichlich Platz. Und da wir zu Weihnachten da waren, hatte Helek sogar noch für alle gebacken. Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt.

Great rustic farm stay outside of Swellendam. Safe to explore the area and the wood fired hot tub was a perfect addition. We loved exploring the farm and spotting all of the animals, especially the giraffe! Comms from the host could have been better though as we had some difficulty finding the farm for check-in without any directions.

We were welcomed from the moment we drove through the gate to the basket of goodies we needed. Absolutely lovely! The dirt road may seem long to get to the farm but just enjoy the ride and the farm is beautiful!!! I Wish we would have planned a couple days just to sit back and enjoy everything. We were still glad we went and hosts went up and beyond to help us out!!! Special place! Highly recommend!

We simply just love this place!

The location is out of the way of our usual drive to the Suid-kaap, but with our baby boy we decided to do a stopover and drive through the valley. Can't believe we have not done it sooner. It's a piece of paradise. As heritage lover, the restoration work of the buildings on the farm are incredible, and there's an old mill with original parts. The cottage ('Old Barn') we stayed in, is so well maintained, cosy and kitted with everything you need. In the morning the chickens came to say 'hi' and we fed them some of the seeds that were provided in the cottage (they might have been meant for the birds, but the chicks were very convincing). Thank you for the lovely stay.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt bei Sam und ihrem Mann. Sie sind beide sehr herzliche und interessante Menschen. Wir wurden von Sam und ihren Hunden freundlich begrüßt und zu einem restaurierten Haus mit beeindruckender historischer Inneneinrichtung begleitet. In der Küche lag frischgebackenes Brot, das köstlich geschmeckt hat. Für unsere Kinder war es ein Highlight Joe dabei zu helfen, die Tiere zu füttern und sie konnten die Tiere (Hunde, Katze, Esel, Pferde, Schaf, Schweine, Vögel) auch jederzeit alleine füttern und streicheln. Für uns war es ein tolles Erlebnis so nah mit den Tieren zu sein. Gerne stand eine Ziege oder der Esel bei uns vor der Tür. Wir haben sie alle ins Herz geschlossen. Einen Tag waren wir am schönen Strand von Stillbay. Aufgrund der kurzen Zeit konnten wir nicht mehr erkunden, wünschen uns sehr, noch einmal wiederzukommen. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Ein Tier-Abenteuer wartet bestimmt. Ansonsten beeindruckt die Historie des Hauses.

Absolutely perfect cottage and location for a peaceful getaway. Very clean, well furnished with thoughtful touches like binoculars, books, well stocked braai utensils and grids. Even stocked with fresh farm milk and eggs. Bernadine was a great communicator, very accommodating and all-round amazing host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our farm stay with Braham. The peaceful setting, fresh air, and quiet distance from town created a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. We'll definitely be back for a longer stay. Thank you Braham.

Has so many different spaces to utilise, from an undercover braai, to an outside braai, to an indoor fireplace. Also multiple picnic spots next to the river. Had an amazing time :)

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Pepper Tree Farm! We absolutely loved having our morning coffee on the stoep overlooking the blossoming thorn trees while sheep grazed ambled by. The farm provided us with the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. The cottage was spacious and well equipped. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet and rustic holiday. The surrounding nature was a brilliant bonus!

Belinda is a great host. Stoepsit is exactly what we were looking for. Being away from the hustle and bustle of suburban and city life, surrounded by an amazing view and peaceful environment was food for the soul. There are a few reviews that mentioned requiring a 4x4. Getting there was quite comfortable in our Corolla Cross.

What an absolute gem - the perfect breakaway from the city hustle. It was so peaceful and the Mountain View was absolutely breathtaking. This was also perfect for our dogs - great big property to run, but perfect enclosure too. Tharien was a superhost, always responsive and willing to help. Definitely a must visit; looking forward to being back!

It was a home away from home. I love everything about it and I’m definitely coming. The warmth I felt there from welcoming to a nice chill with the hosts made my trip complete.

It's a very picturesque place, an attachment to the main house built inside of what used to be a water reservoir!! It is perfectly transformed in an unique and beautiful ensuite room, confortable and cozy. Despite the fact that we arrived very late and on really short notice (we booked the place while we were on the road and just a couple of hours away), Neels was extremely friendly and helpful, he offered us welcoming drinks, let us use the kitchen facilities on the outside of the house and even shared his food with us!! We didn't get to meet his wife, who was out of town at the occasion, but we met their three beautiful dogs, which are very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it, but notice that it is a small farm a little bit away from the town.

This little spot of heaven in the Karoo was perfect for a quiet reset. Beautiful quiet surroundings, and amazing star gazing. Absolutely will return!

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kliphuis. We could switch off and relax from the moment we got there. The directions and self-checkin worked very well. The house had everything we needed, even an ice machine. As our host Jacques was not expecting any guests on the day of our departure, he offered that we could stay an extra night if we wanted to, and of course we did! It felt as if we were in the middle of nowhere, we did not see other people for our whole stay. Although the place is quite remote, its very safe and there is cellphone reception. The huge stoep with comfy coaches on wheels and one of them hanging, was such a highlight. We sat on the stoep almost the whole day enjoying nature, birdlife in/around the river below, and the amazing view of the starts at night. We were woken up by 4 owls on the stoep on our last morning, what a treat for birders. We were also fortunate that there was water in the river during a hot December.

Sionsberg is an absolute gem. The perfect place to escape city stress and corporate mayhem and just come up for air. Anita's home is magnificent - beautifully curated, high quality bed linen, well-equipped, loads of small special touches and a truly exquisite garden. She went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful time.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful – we felt at home right away. Everything was beautifully arranged, spotless, and full of thoughtful details. The view was stunning, and watching the stars at night was truly magical. Breakfast at “The Blue Cow” was delicious and super cosy. Hannette was warm, helpful, and made us feel truly welcome. We’d come back anytime – thank you so much!

We had the most delightful stay at Doorways. Daph is an extraordinary host and her rooms are comfortable and really well appointed. Spacious, clean, peaceful and surrounded by a beautiful garden, you really can't ask for more. We can't wait to go back.
